It's funny how Rockets play well most of the game, except down in crunch time, when good coaches excel and terrible ones are exposed with terrible rotations and execution. Sampson better knows something the fans don't, cause he's got some explaining to do about the pile of **** he just took on Rockets fans faces.
Doesn't matter, Sampson is protected with McHale. As long as McHale doesn't get fired, Sampson has the free reigns until McHale comes back. What a timely "emergency" by McHale to dissapear, a few more games and he could have been really exposed and enough games and maybe he could have been fired. The only game I see McHale possibly winning was Pistons, but other than that I see straight loses for us. Except now we can only blame Sampson and not McHale(even though offensive scheme/system is all on McHale's incompetent ass) If Mchale gets fired, Sampson will probably go with him. Every head coach has his own trio or so of assistant coaches.
Ooooh Kevin McHale. I am so sorry I was mad at you. You are the greatest coach of all time. Phil Jackson must be your illegitimate child. Please come back.
What bothers me about the end of game offense recently is how reliably predictable it is. They clear out for Harden. The Blazers realized this and showed on him making it hard for him to initiate. Problem is that no one else is seen as strong a threat so Harden can't pass it off to anyone else, especially with Lin on the bench tonight in OT. I'd like to see much more of Lin initiating the half-court offense with a PnR and then, when he gets a step on his man, he has three options: 1) attack the paint, 2) pass out to Harden who can then take his man off the rotation instead of having to create something off an iso, or 3) look for either Morris in the corner or a cutter or the roller. Letting Lin initiate off the PnR plays to his strength which is making decisions and getting the initial separation on the pick. But putting Lin in the corner goes away from his strength and lets the defense key in on Harden. Makes no sense whatsoever.
The sad thing is we can't fire him cause it would be cruel after his daughter passed away. But he is simply not even as good as Sampson coaching wise.
I wish all you guys could get on the same page. Because a lot of people were happy to see McHale come back because they didn't like Sampson. Oh, I think I get it. There is no coach good enough for Clutchfans. Clutchfans know more about basketball than any coach in the NBA.
Months later and nothing has changed. My deepest sympathies for his loss but McHale has to go. I felt it when I started this thread and I feel it even more now
Why should there be? I felt like McHale rushed back to coaching and should have taken a bit more time to get his bearings. If he felt he was up to sit courtside and manage our team he's also up to us criticizing him.
He just doesnt get how to sub his players...there is no reason for why Parson plays 42 mins....and Harden plays 46...Harden for god sake played on a sprained ankle...get him some rest...I liked the 3 guard combo...but they went away from that... Seriously...Mchale needs to get a better feel for the game of his players...he cant wear them out like this...they had nothing down the stretch of this game...
Youngest team in the league, this is what you get. Why do people expect us to be winning games? You are the idiot.
