Lin is now the joke of the NBA yet it is also well recognized what the problem is, that he needs to be the ball handler to be successful and he is not a spot up shooter. Why is this so obvious to everyone but not to the coaches? If he doesn't fit with harden then he needs to come off the bench but come off th bench as the first option. Maybe he can reinvent himself as a valuable 6th man. He would also be facing the opposing second units. If Lin continues to struggle I do see perhaps such a transition for him in the second half of the year.

I don't think Lin's value has peaked, though this investment is not promising.

THIS. just start him, for the fans, then take him out early. put him back in to run the floor with the second unit. at this point, smith's athleticism has impressed me and i think he can be the finisher around the rim that asik isnt. also delfino can play the novak role for lin.
