    Rox - As a Rocket fan :).
OCT - Serge Ibaka? they would be really thin at the 2, if they say YES then we should, too.
TWolves - RA would love to have Thabo's size, defense in his back court plus he has been hitting the long ball, too. BUT may want Lamb on his rookie contract more.

While I am not ready to give up on Lin... What about Stephen Curry. Dude is playing great right now, and with his shot he would be a great compliment to James Harden. And one of the biggest things: his contract is very reasonable (4 years 40 millions) - might be an all star at a bargain. And the Warriors are known to make stupid moves... The only question mark: can he stay healthy?

Perhaps Lin and Patterson and a pick (do we have one we can offer?) would do the trick? The Warriors are dying for more media attention, and have several other great shooters on the team. Lin could be their main ball handler and pick and roll guy and flourish in their system.

Well, he's been playing at PF about as much as at SF throughout his career. Defensively, it's problem. Offensively, it's great. It's very hard stay with him if you are a typical big.

Damn, just realized I never did a post-Harden deal update. I may try to do one in the next few days if I can find the time.

Quick question I throwing out to the BBS: Do you guys prefer the regular (in-depth but lengthy) updates, or would you want a shorter update only with the cap figures?

I realize many people don't have the patience to read through my entire cap updates. But at the same time, I try to be as thorough as possible in order to address as many questions/concerns/angles as possible.

    So, which do you prefer?

Bima, do the long update. If people think it's too long then they can choose not to read it. With all the research you put into it, you kinda deserve to give commentary. With few posters as knowledgeable as you, I'd rather see a long post in which I learn something most othes don't know. There is a reason why Clutch puts your posts on the front page, and it isn't because they're rushed. Keep it up

Do the long thing, then throw in a speadsheet/table summarizing it. Also include a one-page executive summary for the executives around here. Thanks.

Assistant coach, Adelman crony and one-time Rocket Bobby Jackson of the Kings suggested that they may want to trade a PG to solve their logjam there with Jimmer, Aaron Brooks and Isaiah Thomas.

    http://fox40.com/2012/12/07/bleed-b...trade-could-solve-logjam-at-point-guard-spot/

I think the Rockets are going to allow Lin to work through his struggles given their investment in him and his potential-- he is not much different from any other young prospect, except that instead of having invested a 1st round draft pick on him, they are investing money (relatively rare situation that happened because of the "Gilbert Arenas" circumstances that made Lin a FA after year 2, and only half a season worth of games).

However, I think the Rockets can use another PG who actually plays PG, instead of 6'2'' SG Toney Parker (who does some things well, but is just kind of awkward when he tries to run the point).

The Rockets also have kind of an imbalance with too many front court guys and not enough on the perimeter.

    To Kings: Machado, Aldrich
    To Rockets: Fredette, Garcia

The Kings get a decent young big in Aldrich, and a cheap D-League PG/prospect in Machado. They also save several million dollars by dumping Garcia's salary.

The Rockets get to see Lin fans battle Jimmer fans.

^ Jimmer offers pretty much the same thing as Toney Douglas but with worse defense. Jimmer is a SG in a PG's body.

yep, you are trading for a 6'2 SG to replace a 6'2 SG. But then again, why not. If there's no better way to use the cap. It's a pure salary cut from the Kings point of view, Aldrich/Machado are irrelevant, but Maloofs are probably cheap enough to do it.

It will be another great story if it happens. The first team that cut him now wants him back. Interesting.:)

If the trade was for Isaiah instead of Fredette, sure, though we'd have to give up some more assets maybe.

    Naw. I don't like Garcia's contract or Fredette's game.

    I can't wait until Dec. 15.

I don't think any trades will happen before then.

That is when free agent signings can be traded. I believe that is when 2Pat and 2M will be traded.

I think the Kings may be interested in Morris because they could use a small forward.

Also, he played with Thomas Robinson at Kansas.

I suspect the Rockets would like to keep Aldrich in case of injuries to Asik or Smith.
