Really, he's 36 and not THAT old. Hakeem put up pretty good numbers at that age. Plus, Pop has done an excellent job limiting his minutes over the years to keep him fresh. Also, Duncan doesn't need elite athleticism to be effective, as he is very fundamentally skilled.
When lin was in Golden States ,Houston and even in New York,he was trying to learn and play the team system. He was going no way.Days before the Knicks were to cut him, they gave him the last chance to play due to short handed.Lin said to himself, according to his interview, the hell with the system ,he is going to play the way he knows how.Linsanity was born.I hope one day he will wake up and do the same thing .
Olajuwon's last game as a Rocket i think it was against the KG led Timberwolves where he had 27 or 28 points and 12 boards. Sadly Olajuwon struggled in Toronto but really injuries had caught up to him.Duncan is just so skilled and can still dunk the ball as he made Patterson his poster boy tonight or last night now.
Go Rockets!!!! The Spurs are such a bad team. Once we get my man Chandler Parsons back to playing well we will be unstoppable. The Spurs just got lucky guys do not be worried. James Harden for MVP am I right? Jeremy Lin too I think. Has there ever been 2 MVPS from the same team??
Coog with the way the team played today, they'd be lucky if they don't get blown out by the Wizards. Yes but still I was hoping the good games he had against the Knicks, Utah and Toronto, would've been enough to bring his confidence back. Once he gets his swagger back, the opponent won't matter as much because he won't be hesitant to shoot when open which he seems unsure about at the moment after he missed his first few shots Welp, Coach Sampson already said Jeremy is one of the first to get to practice and the last to leave the court, the boy is working hard. I'm sure this slump isn't annoying anyone more than Lin himself. We just gotta hope he gets over it soon.
expected a loss away to sas we always lose , good thing it was a blow out ,dallas game is way more imp
So Parsons couldn't shoot (probably because of a sore shoulder), Asik couldn't do anything (probably because he was sick), Patterson had an off night and Lin couldn't shoot as usual. We also played the best passing team in the NBA and one of the best defensive ones. We should learn from this not tear down the whole team and throw Lin under the bus like the whole debacle is his fault.
The difference is the match ups. The Lakers and Knicks have terrible PnR Defense, which plays right into Harden and Lin's games. And Miami is a SMALL team. Our size allows us to dominate at the rim in terms of rebounds. The Spurs have good PnR defense, the best passing game in the NBA, and multiple Bigs (notice how few rebounds Asik had) who are good at defending the rim AND good shot blockers. The Spurs match up particularly well against our roster in terms of defense, offensive style (pass the ball), and size.
Are you talking about the Tony Parker that put up 30 on Memphis, 32 on Toronto, and 33 on Indiana THIS season? All THREE of those teams have superior defense to ours, and Memphis has arguably the BEST perimeter defender in the NBA (Tony Allen). And Parker STILL lit them up. It takes TEAM defense to stop Parker. And there's nobody on the planet that can defend Parker AND go over a screen by themselves. He's just too fast, and their screens and picks are too good. Basketball defense is mostly about Team defense. Individuals can only do so much.
The whole starting team (with the exception of Harden) plays poorly and it gets blamed on Lin? Contrary to popular opinion there are a LOT of LOH's on this website.
I posted this at the other thread....analysis of Lin's game with Spurs. Also some comments about Harden. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/E0sVKwmDFaY" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
