Garbage minutes though, so sort of meaningless. Deep bench players guarded by other deep bench players.
Just stop. I'm a Lin fan, but this is ridiculous. Harden is our best player. Yes, he's had some bad shooting games, but overall he's been the best so far for us.
Surprise surprise - Rockets tried a half-court offense against the Spurs and it didn't work. Shocker there.
the spurs chemistry was also on display tonight. It makes it tough for a team like the Rockets, who go through so many players, to obtain that type of chemistry in a short period of time. Hopefully our core of Harden-Asik-Parson + new Star (maybe Lin but losing faith...) can become a core that hangs around for a while. The constant turnover of players, while necessary, prevents us from playing real team ball ala Spurs
Thats not what i mean...its the lack of a PF that goes up strong...TJones has shown me something...Greg Smith has shown me something...PPat...has developed an on and off j...but is not a PF...
Lin should not be starting anymore. He should come off the bench and not start till he gets his game and health back. Parsons was a no show tonight. His 3s were all short, he had not lift in his legs tonight.
Lin does need the ball in his hand to be effective and into rythem IMHO. I would suggest start Delfino for Lin and let Lin leads the second unit with freedom to do his thing and see how it works out. If he still struggles, I believe Rockets should plan to trade him before his value goes down.
I agree with you, but that kind of stuff doesn't show up in tonight's box score. It would be nice if the Rockets had a PF who will take it up strong in the paint like a man against starters. Haven't had one since...probably Carl Landry. It's been a below the rim, defensive specialist, or finesse slot for them for far too long.
NO you dont get what im saying. Im saying this team is inconsistant. LIn needs to shoot better all the time. Im encouraged that he took shots tonight,. if he takes shots they will fall and hes getting good looks. Harden is also inconsistant but takes a lot of shots. If they both take good shots they will fall. The team as a whole has to shoot more consistantly. BUT remember this team is the 3rd highest scoring team in the NBA. The Lin hate is just stupid. He played pretty well tonight except shooting. Covering the Pick and roll is all about TEAM d. Osik was HORRIBLE tonight. Look across the floor to the other big guy. Want to win a championship, get one of those guys... I also want to remind all of you that if the season ended today the rockets would be in the playoffs....would you have expected that when the season started? I dont think so. The blame on Lin is simply rediculous. If you want to say hes not shooting well fair enough but all the other nonsense is silly. Hes the most effort guy on this team and he was in fact the second best rocket tonight
The team needs to figure out defensive rotations in the rare cases where Lin gets screened out of the play. The Spurs did that as well as any team I've seen. When Lin doesn't get screened out of the play, the defense is OK. (Against most teams, this happens to Lin no more than twice in a game. But tonight, it happened at least six times.) But because the Spurs did do so on quite a few occasions, the defense wasn't used to that, it became uncharted territory. I think the Spurs scouted the Rox extraordinarily well. They knew Lin's defense was a major element in the Rox' success thus far, and knew if they could take Lin out of the defense with multiple screens, the Spurs could then score at will.
Out of all the PF...PPat has been handed the reigns as the PF...but just doesnt have it...his defense is above avg..He can score in bunches...but a true PF needs to rebound and work the post...PPat doesnt show me that he can do that...he camps at the 3 point line like a SF on offense...
Yeah, seriously. Who do these guys calling for Lin to be benched think can step in to replace him? TD is worse. At least Lin collects rebounds and passes well. TD is a SG who can't shoot in a point guard's body.
I agree with you but Lin should not be starting till he can get his game and health back. Something needs to get done.
This could be one of those situations like Raymond Felton. He sucked ass in Portland but on the Knicks he's solid and sometimes boarderline star. Hopefully Lin bounces back, but as a Lin fan, it's getting unbearable to watch
Man the Rockets didn't even have to worry the PG spot last year and a year later we do now lol. Lin is not a starting PG in this league..maybe only in certain systems. Would be a Solid Back up but we have nobody better than him to start over .
