During garbage time, I wish coach should let Jeremy play his kind of game with our second stringers just to improve his shooting.
Linsanity was fortunate and unfortunate for Jeremy. I really feel he leapfrogged over some stages of development. I wish Morey had never pulled his poison pill antics. Jeremy needs to be a backup pg on a decent team with veterans. Not a third string pg in garbage time like at GS, but a legit backup with solid minutes. Making like 2 million. He deserves that chance after Linsanity. Then after a few years of development, he could start if he was good enough. Playing with Jason Kidd would have been good for him. Rockets need a more experienced pg with all the young players on this team, not Lin.
Not trying to cross post, but hoping someone can confirm this or not. This was posted at 8:30PM in the game thread. Anyone know what's going on? Is there something they're not telling us?
Really the only thing that is holding Lin back is his offense...but he competes...and you can see him trying extremely hard...but this is a make or miss league and he needs to hit shots for teams to respect his drive by...have harden bring up the ball...screen off the guard on Lin...and have him attack the rim...Harden is much better at a set shot jumper....Lin just needs to get to the gym early...or stay back late...just shoot jumpers...dont look to pass...look to score first...
I wouldn't be surprised if he's playing in pain at this point. He doesn't look like the same player as last year, not even close. I went to a preseason game (the one at New Orleans) and he looked to be limping even then.
He will never get a better jumpshot unless the ball is in his hands. It's just not his game. And not being elite, not sure which teams would be willing to run everything through him. As a backup, he could have more freedom maybe.
Looks like the Rockets gonna be looking for a PG sooner than they thought. He's NOT a starting PG but has to because our back up isn't all that better lol.
They don;t need leverage he is the starting point guard for the Rockets and they are looking at him optimistically. You do realize that he is coming off of an injury right? Do you really think Morey was fooled by Linsanity and that's the reason we got him because of the hype? Is that usually how Morey does things? Give the guy a chance the season is early and tonights game was lost because our team defense sucked not because of Lin.
This, but average would mean he's around 15th amongst 30 starters, which he's definitely not. Here are 30 guys currently better: Paul, (Rose), Rondo, Westbrook, Deron, Kyrie, Parker, Nash, Lowry, Holiday, Lillard, Lawson, Conley, Dragic, (Wall), (Lowry), Curry, Walker, Teague, Jennings, Collison, Knight, Felton, Chalmers, M.Williams, Bledsoe, G.Hill, Calderon, A.Miller and L.Williams
I'd probably rank him 26-29th PG based on the current showing, but if you accept the fact that he's in a slump, then there's nowhere to go but up. Well, at least as Rocket fans, there's nothing we can do, it is silly to trade him for another PG, say, Calderon, G.Hill, or M.Williams. That's just absurd.
YES. Morey Made a BIG MISTAKE. Everyone comes of an injury and they play better than what he is doing right now. IF he can rebound, and assist the ball, run up and down, he can play. You do realize that Adrian Peterson coming off an injury that was worse than Lins and this guy is tearing up the NFL which would be much harder to come back to playing the Running back position when they aim for your legs to stop you. Last year, DRose came of an injury and began where he left off. If you can play then coming off an injury shouldn't stop you that much. He needs to play at least average. This guy is playing below average.
He is in a shooting slump. Plain and simple. The guy has been bricking shots. He is also inconsistent. But, he is still helping the team in the defensive end. You can't ask anything better than that if the guy is in the slump. All he can do now is shoot his way out of it. Luckily Harden got out of his slump in this game or we would be the laughing stock of the legue. Just give him time.
I was feeling pretty much disappointed with Lin's performance, when I remembered something: I was thinking, before the season started, that if Lin was able to average 12&7 and keeps the TO low, I would be satisfied with him. If I remember, several others were writing about similar numbers also. So, that's why I cannot complain about him too much. He is almost averaging that anyway. Of course, I expect him to improve from now on, but so far, he is not underperforming too much if I think about that goals I expected from him before. Also, think about that: if it was Machado who was playing instead of Lin, and having the exact same performance, would we be complaining so much? Since Lin is also almost a rookie, that's could be a good measure of how biased our opinion is. If your answer is yes, ok, you are criticizing rationally. If you answer is no, then, well, let's cut him a slack. Sometimes, we are just setting too high expectations. So, once I thought about that, I'm kind of more cool about Lin. Yes, he has to improve, but as much as any rookie/newbie has. Of course, I wish he was having Lillard's type of performance, but who knows? Let's keep him playing and see how much he can grow.
