Lin's midrange game was on point during Linsanity last season. For some reason, that same midrange game that contributed greatly to Linsanity has now completely disappeared, along with what little 3 point shooting skill he had as well. I honestly think it's a confidence issue (yeah, still) but if he's still shooting like this at the end of the season, then the LOH's will have triumphed over the LOF's.
Duncan pretty much sets the best screens in basketball, so the bigs need to switch everytime during the Parker/Duncan pick and rolls. No way Lin can fight through it. He can't go under the screen either, because Parker is hitting the midrange jumper. 2nd Half...do not let Marcus Morris see the court.
I was wrong when I said the Knicks are the best screen-setting team in the league.... The Spurs are the best screen-setting team in the league. Basically took Lin's defense completely out of the game. The Spurs put on a clinic in half-court offense in the first half. That said, I can't believe the Rox are down by "only" 12.
No obviously Lin is supposed to teleport through Duncan's screens. WHY DOESN'T HE HAVE LATERAL QUICKNESS/TELEPORTATION POWERS?
I think that any guard that goes up against an elite guard experiences the same thing. They're not elite for no reason.
Guys need to understand that Nobody is stopping Parker one on one. Not Lin, not Rondo, nobody. It takes TEAM defense to stop Parker. You can't go under the screen as his jump shot is ridiculous. You go over the screen, he has 2 steps on you and you got VERY little chance of catching him. So, Lin is shooting like crap, but bashing him for not stopping Parker is like bashing Miami's PG when Rondo went for 42. As for our defense, it's been bad ALL season. That's why we're 29th in points allowed. And if our shot isn't falling, we're going to get slaughtered. Period. The Spurs are THAT good. 50+ wins every season for 13 (THIRTEEN) consecutive seasons. We're a BUBBLE playoff team. The Spurs are legitimate Championship contenders EVERY year for over a decade. So get your expectations in line. We're not playing Utah, we're playing the freaking Spurs. They can make 26/30 teams look like a High School team when they're playing well on pretty much any night of the week.
This is still a winnable game. It's not uncommon for Tony Parker to go off in the first half then cool down in the second half. Hopefully, the team will shoot better in the second half.
I disagree. A good screen cuts off the primary defender and forces defensive rotation. Parker IS killing us exactly because of GOOD screens.
Who's the shooting coach this moron hired. Douglas would be a better shooting coach for him at this point. His shot honestly can't get any worse.
Im a lin fan, but he has been very disappointing this season. Its still early in the season so i hope he can turn it around, but its not looking very good atm.
Why is Lin getting hammered so much on this board, the whole team is playing like ****e. Harden is the only one that looks good out there and he's carrying us on his back. People are way too quick to praise on demonize lin on this board, chill out.
