Why aren't we using the metric system and having it standard? It makes no sense to have an outdated system of measurements that don't even make sense if you think about it. It's completely arbitrary. Also, why do we write down dates like this MM/DD/YY? This makes no sense. Dates should be abbreviated in this manner. DD/MM/YY There is a common sensical increase from day-month-year. World >>> USA
Could not agree more! When I moved here from the UK about 15 years ago, it completely tripped me out!
WAIT... I do not agree with your last "World>>>USA" part... You can get the **** outta here with that!! lol
I agree as well. Especially since I do most of my business overseas (doesn't everyone now days??) It would make things a lot easier to say the least.
I agree with the metric system but what the hell is wrong with our date format? Saying its the 7th of December 2012 sounds weird as opposed to it is December 7, 2012. Less words = better.
Whenever I'm no in the US and A, I have difficulties measuring length and height. What's with the centimeters world brahs? Can we get foot and inches up in here? What the hell is 175 cm tall?
The world isn't smart enough to use our measurements -- they need something simpler And the dates make more sense the way we do it
Month/Day/Year I think was standard (or one of the standards) until the 1900's or so in England - we probably got it from them. "What's today's date?" "June 7th, 2012" or month day, year.
Why do monarchies still exist...why is football called football and not throwball....why is soccer not called football... we have a lot of quirky things... But thats whats great about the USA...
Metric system is r****ded. Like anyone could actually tell wth 5 grams weighs outside of a drug dealer.
99% of modern vocations use metric systems. The one great thing that came out of the French Revolution
I think MM/DD/Year makes sense, at least I use it I use foot and inches for height only and pounds for weight Everything else I use metric system. I can't understand how people use the empirical system when they do physics or chemistry experiments though, it just makes everything so much more complicated.
I hate to say it, but I agree with texxx. Hell, I've traveled the world and yes, we have an antiquated system, but I'm used to it and could care less about whether we go metric or not. Of course, both my kids are know it backwards and forwards. I'm behind the times in that respect, and like I said, I just don't care.
