they do? I'm not sure Lamb/PJ3 will ever get close to Gortat's level, not to mention PJ3's health flags.

I think the Cavs do it, the Thunder do it and open up champagne, I don't think Phoenix does it. The Rockets... maybe. Probably not for basketball reasons though, but as an asset. I think Gortat is a bigger asset than Morris/Jones/2nd rounders.

I think the Jazz are definitely going to look to flip some of their big men for some back-court help and young assets. This trade leaves Kanter/Favors/Biyombo as a nice set of young bigs AND gives them a solid SG.

The Bobcats are terrible and need to shake things up. This trade would leave them with $20 million in expiring contracts, a legit center and PF.

    Roster would be

    Lin/Douglas
    Harden/Delfino
    Parsons/Morris
    Millsap/Motiejunas
    Asik/Smith

For the Rockets- Logjam at PF is cleared up and Millsap is a FA that the Rockets could re-sign to a nice contract. The only team I see saying no is Charlotte. Thoughts?

That trade is ridiculous, even with Millsap and Jefferson as expirings..

CHA gets Jefferson, PPat and Cook to get rid of Ben Gordon and a prospect in Biyombo? Utah can get a much better haul if they're really looking to cash in their big men, Millsap and Jefferson turn into a crappy wing who's owed almost 15M over 2 years, a mediocre player who might turn into a solid role player in Biyombo, a expiring, cheap backup to Kanter in C. Aldrich and T. Jones.

Bobcats are the only team that do that, why give up PPat & T Jones for a rental in Millsap?

    Derrick Williams

Derrick Williams' Agent Inquires About Trade Possibility

Derrick Williams' agent, Rob Pelinka, has not formally requested a trade for his client, but he has asked the Minnesota Timberwovles about the possibility of parting ways due to lack of playing time, according to a team source.

Ppat has been played really much better lately and should the rockets sell him high right now?
As far as I know, D-Will is a much better 3-point shooter who can stretch the floor much better with Harden's penetration, and he is young and athletic. He still has a lot of potential and we know what we can get from Ppat already. Morey should take a chance on him if the price is right. Maybe Ppat, Cook for Derrick Williams. Thought?

He is only 21, but he is in the category of "bust" right now, despite playing under Adelman in a development friendly-environment.

    His FG% is abysmal.

Not sure he is really a better 3 pt shooter than Pat.

He's just another young PF prospect like all the ones already on the roster (Jones, White, Morris, Pat, Motiejunas). Does he have higher upside than the rest of them? It's hard to tell from his play.

I don't think the guy mentally has it. I mean...I think he's just content being a NBA player...

I mean I guess I wouldn't mind trading him straight up for Patterson though...the upside is there.

The guy was primed to succeed with Adelmans system with Kevin Love out. The deck was loaded for him to explode and he did not.

A change of scenery isn't going to help him, he just isn't very good.

Morris is outplaying him. I liked him out of college, but he is worth less than White because he has a bigger contract.

    C'mon now....

White is pretty worthless now :p

White for Derrick Williams would be about right...and isn't he from that area any ways?

Williams salary would hurt Rockets chances of signing max free agent. White's doesn't. Advantage White for being least overpaid.

I see him as a slightly more athletic/ slightly undersized version of Marcus Morris. He's the classic 3/4 tweener with no real position.

If the Rockets were to trade for Derrick Williams to take a shot in the dark of him becoming a cornerstone, I wouldn't mind trading PPat & Cook for DWill & Ridnour.

    http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=buqa3sh

Ridnour can play the point and we can slide Douglas over to the backup the 2 spot.

    PG: Lin/Ridnour
    SG: Harden/Douglas
    SF: Parsons/Del3no/Dwill
    PF: DWill/Morris/Jones/Dmo
    C: Asik/Smith/Dmo

Dwill is still an asset, and the Wolves seem set on using their assets on getting another player/players that would help them contend now.

Pat and such don't make sense for them, just another 10 MPG backup to Love. Not to mention Adelman also likes to use Kirilenko at 4.
    And Ridnour > Cook.

The trade I proposed was more of a scenario where D Will demanded a trade out of Minny...not saying I want him in Houston, but I wouldn't mind picking up one of their PG's to back up Lin and lead the offense when Lin or Harden are on the bench.

Would you do this trade as the Rockets GM?

I think it would be a fair return on Patterson. Smith has locked down the back up center spot so why not go small. Burks and Harden both big combo gaurds ;). MAYBE Burks just needs a new start (and a little help on his shot). Fournier is /will be a soild player (Delfino's role at less than 1/2 the cost).

    http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=cuf4m9y
    Cut Cook

    2013 - 2014
    Burks/Lin
    Harden/Fournier
    Parsons/Morris
    Motiejunas/Jones
    Asik/Smith

I like the seconds as much as the starters:)

PLUS our draft pick, Machado, and White:rolleyes:.

I would. Maybe Morey has some bigger offers happening, i don't know. But if not, this is the kind of deal I'd take. I like Burks. Big athletic guards who are that aggressive and can score like him are rare, and he's even shown he might become a solid shooter.
Patterson is safe, but if you have so many PF projects, I think it's smart to trade one of them for someone like Burks. I think he's at least a typical 6th man "scorer off the bench". But he could become much more than that.

I've no idea why he's in the doghouse, maybe we don't know something, the Jazz can be very secretive. Then again, Corbin seems like a very conservative pro-veteran coach, while Burks makes some poor decisions and his defense is a project, so that may be the whole explanation. But that can improve.

The league has already put the clamps down on teams having more than one superstar...and penalizing teams with 3 or more...these effects will be seen within the next two years...

Realistically who on our current Roster(minus Harden, Lin, and Asik) is a must keep...if we are trying to pursue a guy like Kevin Love...it would be amazing to have Kevin here...but is it realistic???

Im sure Parsons and his agent is gonna ask for a paygrade increase. Ditto for PPat, etc...

And how much cap space do we really have...has BimaThug done a post Harden and future cap update???? if so...if someone can bump that thread up...:)

Pretty much this. I don't see how Derrick Williams brings anything to the table that Mook doesn't.
