    Gallinari?

Why would you pick him over Parsons.

Parsons is more charismatic than Gallinari.

I was a fun of him two years ago or so when he was playing with the Knicks.

    That guy can shoot.

Last year he was pretty good, he was an All-Star nominee I believe.

But in my opinion, Parsons is better than Gallinari.

Parsons will become an unrestricted free agent if the Rockets pick up all of his option years in the Summer of 2015. In those 3 years Chandler wont even crack a million dollars in any given year. Highway robbery at its finest.

With 2 more seasons after this one, I would say that after this season he might be the most coveted player in the NBA to trade for that's not a legit superstar. If the Rockets trade for an all-star in the next 2 or 3 years, the first and last names that will be mentioned will be Parsons, and probably Asik.

Im not saying that its not possible that the Rockets are able to retain him in the next 2 years AND trade/sign another star player, but my guess is that its going to be hard to keep Parsons, but I sure hope they are able to keep him.

-I think the book is yet to be written on Greg Smith. He will be unrestricted a year earlier in 2014. Alot can happen in that timeframe. Still he's a steal already, and might generate a ton of buzz in the next few months if he has games like he had the other night consistently.

Needless to say, the Rockets are going to have a hard time keeping all of their young players on their roster and making the next step to contender by acquiring a second star, but Isn't that the point of what Morey was trying to accomplish to begin with?

If for some reason both of these players are Rockets in September of the final season of their contract, I think the Rockets will work out an extension for Parsons in a heartbeat. Not sure about Smith at this point. The Rockets would technically have up till October 31st 2014 to work out an extension for Chandler. October 31st 2013 for Smith.

Just for fun. Obviously can't happen till December 15th and highly unlikely that the Heat would break up a title defender. However......-

    Houston trades- Lin & Asik,

Miami trades - Chris Bosh & Norris Cole

    Rockets roster-

    PG- Cole, Douglas, Machado
    SG- Harden, Delfino, Cook
    SF- Parsons, Morris
    PF- Bosh, Jones, D-Mo, White
C- G. Smith or Patterson, Aldrich

-I think that's a very, very good team that fits very well on the court.
-The Harden/Bosh P&R should be one of the best in the league.
-Could really spread the floor too with the P&R if Patterson is your other big
-Team could run & gun, and play efficient half court sets
-Cole could be one of those breakout players Morey covets
-If Bosh had to be traded, this is a team I could see him being excited to play on with Harden.

    cons

-Would hurt this team somewhat defensively losing Asik. However, Greg Smith could really step up with extended minutes. Aldrich has had good minutes this season at times, but isn't the end all be all.

    The Heat-

This could really round out their roster well, and allow Lebron & Wade to be setup on offense, rather than have to run the offense, and setup himself. Asik is a no-brainer for them. They would absolutely be the best defensive team in the league up and down their roster. Best defensive team in the league + having the best player in the world.... Even though they wouldn't dare breakup the super friends, I actually think this move would make them a better team.

    Amazing homerism.

Chris Bosh is a superstar. Omer Asik is not.

    Patterson / Morris
    Asik / Smith

    or

    Bosh / Morris
    Smith / Aldrich

    That is a no brainer.

Dallas signed Derek Fisher and made Fisher the starter. Darren Collison will be a RFA this year. Is Collison a upgrade over Toney Douglas as B/U PG?

haha at "stop smoking crack". indeed.

I don't think Miamia would consider a Bosh trade unless they clearly win the deal, though.

yes. but both are bound to make decision that make you facepalm. I think Douglas is a better defender.

But I think the Rockets should just keep Harden or Lin on the floor at all times.

If Asik, and Lin are going to Miami, on the court its a great trade for them.

In the lockeroom & the short term court chemistry would be the main issue that Riley would have to consider and my guess is ultimately he would find to be too risky.

Oh, and they also get some cap savings too. Not a bad deal for either team on paper, but Morey and us knowledgeable fans know that breaking up a title defending team that is as close knit as this one is just too risky for Miami to really consider at this point.

Yes, i mean mainly because of the locker room. It would just be a horribly hard sale considering how they formed that team. Not to mention, it could really hurt any further attempt to attract free agents. That 'family atmosphere' seems like a big part of their culture and attractiveness. For instance, if Bosh was traded at the start of the offseason, does Ray Allen consider them? At least in part, Ray left Boston because he was tired being treated like a trade target all the time, so I doubt it.

Re that particular trade and on-court implications.. That team would have pretty horrible spacing, on paper. I guess they'd bench Lin and start Ray Allen-Wade-LeBron-Battier?-Asik... but still, that's a poorly shooting team compared to what they have now. I think that's a worse starting lineup, tbh. If it was Kyle Lowry + Asik, I'd like it a bit more from their point of view.

With Dallas pick, Bobcat's 2nd from OKC and our NY future 2nd rders going to the Cavs

    Why

Rockets- if Morey think that a Gortat-Asik frontcourt can work then he may be interested. Still have Dmo developing

Suns- this team is going nowhere fast. They need more young guns with potential (Lamb and Jones) and draft one of the many centers in the upcoming draft. Aldrich is a nice cheap backup.

Thunder- This is the center they've been looking for. Hustler, rebounder, very solid defender and willing to run in the open court. He's also not an absolute zero on offense like Perkins. You will have this guy for 3 years as well.

Cavs- Time to start looking towards the draft again. Thompson hasn't worked out at all and Kyrie is currently injured. You get Marcus Morris' bench-scoring, a nice prospect in Jones, a better backup in Maynor, the Dallas pick (this could be a real gem), and 2nd rders

We don't have the Dallas pick or the Charlotte 2nd round pick (included in Harden trade). Also, Phoenix commits highway robbery with this trade.
