Kubiak said that he will see reps on MNF.

If Routt's departure from previous teams had more to do with the system and not some injury or attitude, then this is a steal. So much of success in the NFL is system-dependent. As long as he fits, I think this will be awesome.

I think 610 had Wade or Rick Smith on, and one of the reasons why they looked at Routt was that he played a lot of man coverage similar to what the Texans would intend to play.

I'm not terrified of him filling in, because he's more than just a warm body. What I am scared of is BB/Tom's ability to exploit new members of a defense.

I'm hoping that that will be somewhat negated. Hopefully he won't have many coverage responsibilities outside of the guy he's lining up in front of. AND is able to hold his own.

Could be true, again I haven't really watched him this season so I'm not sure what he's been doing in KC, but obviously it wasn't too great.

Perhaps a good pass rush will revitalize his season.

Yeah and maybe Brady will butt**** him with a blow torch.

    We'll see.

That's the key. Hopefully Barwin can wake up and cause some havoc on Monday night.

Perhaps. A good pass rush is Brady's nemesis. We better bring it!

And for the sake of your wife and kid...get on our wagon already, sonn!!

No, I don't think Palmer lasts long.

We are only in year 1 of a 2-3 purge and rebuild project.

Much like the Jets, the quarterback that is going to lead the Raiders to success is not on their roster right now.

And I'm actually excited to see what Routt can do. IF it was simply a system thing that got him ousted in KC, then maybe Son of Bum can bring him back to his Raiders glory. Either way, good low-risk/high-reward move for the Texans.

Not true. There was no "rebuilding" under Al, he didn't believe in rebuilding, but "reloading". So he after Derrick Brooks ended the Gannon era, Al turns the reins over to veteran QBs like Kerry Collins, Aaron Brooks, Jason Campbell, etc and gives DeAngelo Hall and Javon Walker huge pay days to play a total of 12 games for the franchise. Then he grew fond of trading first round picks for guys like Randy Moss and Richard Seymour, and when he was finally convinced that he had his QB of the future, he picked probably the worst bust of all time.

Then when Jason Campbell got hurt last season, power drunk Hue Jackson decided to set the team back another 2 years by trading for Palmer.

McKenzie inherited a team with no draft picks until the 4th round this season and a ridiculous payroll. He's been steadily trimming away the fat this season, relying on cheap, practice squad type guys to add depth, and his coaching staff is very young and inexperienced.

The only way the Raiders are going to get out of their funk is to basically burn away the remnants of the organization that Al Davis ran and endure a few more bad seasons until the team's talent pool can be successfully restocked.

Routt has a better chance of treading water against Brady than Harris and Carmichael.

And we've already seen a few QBs stick the blow torch up the entire secondary this season. This is an offense geared to do just that. We'll need a special showing by the front line and an A++ game by our DBs to hold down the Patriot West Coast Machine.
