Fudge. Morey would be taking a huge risk. But if Bynum could stay healthy, Morey would own this town.

It's a trap murray! Kupchak is trying to organize a huge Pau deal with 3 others teams so he can keep the Lakers relevant. Don't enable your competition like Denver/PHI/ORL did:mad:

Bynum would be a bad fit even without all the health and character problems. He's not a good pick and roll player, which means he doesn't fit well with Harden.

And then you get into the fact that he has the knees of a 60 year old man...

No, it was just Simmons saying things. He was talking about it more from Phillys perspective. He just threw Morey out there as a random name.

Brandon Roy came back and played 5 games of basketball so he could collect millions in insurance money.

Maybe he could run point for this exciting new all-injury team?

Random speculation. Sure Morey would be interested in Bynum for the right price. Far less than would be accepted.

You've already made those stupid remarks and have been corrected. How can you say that again and not learn from your outrageous mistake?

I heard that podcast the other day. That's just Bill giving Morey a little friendly shoulder nudge IMO.

He talks more about Cuban being someone that might take the gamble if they strike out on Dwight. The Mavs seem like a more likely destination to gamble big time to try and get Dirk one last title run.

The Rockets, and Morey have alot more at stake long term if they go "all in" on Bynum if he doesn't hold up over a 5 year period.

He hasn't been signed to an extension yet and IIRC his deal expires in 2014. Bynum is a massive injury risk but for a 1.5 year gamble it's not debilitating

No he didn't. The Blazers had to pay more to the insurance place, but Roy coming back didn't affect his pocketbook at all. Make sure you know your stuff next time.

Makes even more sense then. I would not be mad if Morey was to take a gamble on this guy.

I say go for it! It might not pan out as the Rockets would hope with Bynum, but in this league you have to make some gambles to win. Roll the dice because if you don't than somebody else.

His contract expires in 2013, actually. So, why trade anything for him instead of just try to sign him after the season if you want him. Doubt the Sixers would want to offer him a full 5 yr max anyway. He is also unrestricted.

When I think of where we are with this team I ask myself how we can get to contender status...I just don't see how its going to happen without taking a risk like this.

If you manage to sign your next core piece next offseason, lets just for argument sake say Josh Smth (or Milsap), at 12 million dollars, then gambling on Bynum doesn't really cost you much because with Harden/Smith/Asik/Lin/rookies you are already close to capped out anyway.

I don't know what he would cost to trade for him or sign him but I think I would take the gamble.

EDIT - He is expiring, why trade for an injured player? Maybe use your cap space to sign him outright and keeps your youngsters as trade bait for the next marquee guy that becomes available. You could probably get him on the cheap since he is so injury prone.
