I know there is a thread about cease fire from all the nonsense on this board and I know that there was a thread a while back similar to this title...

But the nonsense on this board with Lin and Harden is just flat out ridicules. A thread can start off good and then gets derailed about Lin being benched or Hardin trying to be a hero... It gets to a point where you almost want to stay away from the GARM..

So it seems as if a lot of people expectations for Lin, Harden and the Rockets season is just past reality.

The fact is Lin is doing a good job for someone who
    a) Has been given the keys to the car to run the team
    b) Coming off of knee surgery (it takes most players a year to get back their form. Just look at the year Patterson had last year.
    c) Knowing every game that every point guard is playing you like your Lebron and trying to live up to the expectations that everyone has of you.

The fact is Harden is doing a good job for someone who
    a) Has now became the main guy on the court
    b) traded in the beginning of the season with no preparation with your new team
    c) Adjusting to your new role, new coach, new team mates and new system.

The fact is the Rockets are doing a good job period..
    a) With 3 new starters...
    b) With basically a new team, with only 3 players from last years roster
    c) With one of the youngest NBA team
    d) With a coach who just lost his daughter and a backup coach is doing a decent job.

Like another poster stated... sit back and enjoy the games.. So far this team has a lot of potential and all most of us have wanted in the last couple of years is a team that will go out and give it 100% each and every night. So far we have that. No one expected this team to have the record that they have most of the people hear figured they would be in last place and getting ready for the coin flip.

So can we please chill with the Lin adn Harden BS.

wrong, all most of us wanted the last couple of years was a team with either a superstar or a young superstar in the making.

...we haven't had a team that will NOT give it 100% each and every night for a while now..

The Rockets have had superstars on their roster from Elvin Hayes to Yao. So this organization has had it's fair share of Superstars.

Once Yao left and the organization could not get the player they wanted, the consensus was to blow it up and start from scratch. This year they have basically blown it up and they have the young superstar they wanted, but yet there are still individuals on this board that are still not satisfied with the direction of the team.

    Thank you.

And also to those who are peeved that starters sat on the bench when they could have been developing chemistry: I feel like it's worthwhile for the bench to get chemistry too, and for the starters to know that they could trust the bench. So that when the starters start a game they know that they can leave it all on the floor and that there'll be capable people coming in to give them a break... instead of coming in half-assed and braced like they think they're going to have to play 35, 38, 40 minutes.

I think that it's just as important for the entire team to see that if someone is having a good night, that anyone could be left in; that it's not just based on 'minutes for the stars'. And I'm glad that the team won this way.

    well said.

I believe no matter what you said about Lin or Harden or anyone on team, they don't really care. they know what they should or can do to help this team win. they know how to survive in this league. so stop frustrated yourself. just enjoy the games.

Love it......i have hated the rockets since Yao went down in his 6th game 3 yrs ago. Not that I didn't watch every game or jumped to another team just that I knew that current roster was never going to get us what we needed (chip or lose and get a #1 pick). I was happy with the direction before the harden trade and after omg I'm ecstatic. We're in the playoff hunt and should be all year. One thing morey did do while aquiring all this young talent is that every one of them came from playoff teams. Our core will not get rattled thes guys our competitors who want to win. I'm so excited for the future give this team this season and one more player and were young contenders. Good enough to beat okc and Miami? Prob not but def a team who can get to the playoffs and make noise.

Nice post. I hope they can go to the playoffs and I am enjoying watching the Roxx games so far. But seriously they are still very young and inexperienced so please be patient.

Why did you even mention Lin? Not just Harden, but Parsons, Asik and Patterson are all better and more valuable on this team.

The only way this team makes playoffs is by benching Lin for Morris/Delfino and let Lin run the second unit so he could be somewhat efficient.

Hahaha I'm on the bus and I just lol'ed at the anxiety trooper nickname

But I agree as well, I'm new here but the amount of hate on this board is overwhelming. I'm happy so far with where this team is going, I rmbr before the season started, ppl were saying we would win like 25 games max, and it turns out were almost halfway there already. I don't know why some ppl think were automatically supposed to be title contenders all of a sudden.

The fact that the guys can beat teams like LA, NY, and almost the heat is already encouraging. And our bench is starting to become more and more dependable, so ppl....relax and stop being so harsh or jumping to conclusions about certain players after bad games or mistakes, they will learn. Just gotta be patient.

Agree, the composure at the end of close games have been amazing for a team that is so young. Good point that a lot if the vets come from play off teams. That probably pushes the development up by a year or so.

I mentioned Lin because he's the pg for the Rockets...

For all those youngster who don't know.. In the championship years the Rockets had 2 pg's Kenny Smith and Sam Cassell. Kenny started and Sam closed out a majority of those games. But when Kenny was hot he closed out the games.

This is a team game and it makes no difference on who starts and who finishes. It makes no difference who's the leading score, it's about the TEAM winning the game.

I agree that the team as a whole has done a good job. I think this is mainly due to the emergence of several of our young players. Patterson, Morris, Parsons, Smith, and Asik have all stepped up their game and have done a good job.

Harden and Lin have been a bit of a disappointment in my opinion. I'm not slamming Harden and Lin, I like them as players, and I am happy they are on the team. But, both players have been very inconsistent and have not shot the ball as well as I think they are capable of. I think Harden and Lin have probably struggled due to being the primary ball handlers on a team full of new and young players.

The fact that Harden and Lin have not performed as well as they are capable of is a reason to be optimistic about this team. Once Harden and Lin and all of the other players develop better chemistry, this team could really take off.
