I think you're missing something. You definitely don't have to be offended if you don't want to. That's fine, and good for you. But the fact that you've never done any of that is the reason why some people might be offended. The fact is that there are people of Mexican heritage who aren't sombrero working, mustachioed, yard workers, but this sorority reduced Mexican heritage down to smoking weed, doing yard work, wearing a sombrero, and having a mustache is why some people might be offended. I think it's insulting of them but it's so stupid, that it isn't worth being offended over, and just makes the Chi Omegas look incredibly ignorant. At the same time I don't have a problem if people are offended by this, and can understand why they would be.

I'm hispanic and I'm offended. But mostly because they are white or non hispanic. They probably think they're cool or something.

It's called a fraternity. You don't call your country a ****. As for the party it's really just kids having an excuse to get drunk. Non issue for me, but then again I've been exposed to these kind of parties so I'm probably a bit desensitized; I could definitely see how outsiders looking in would view this kind of thing as being offensive.
