Lin didn't play well? I mean, he wasn't great but nowhere near terrible last night either. Plenty of people in the starting lineup contributed to those bad +/- numbers Durv just posted of Lin, including Harden. He sat not because he played so bad, but because the bench was playing so great. Why are Lin fans allowing these 12 year olds to get under your skin? They have nothing better to do than to bring others down, especially when they are struggling. It's called low self esteem. So instead of giving them what they want and stooping to their level, just put those guys on ignore and there will be a lot less clutter around here.
There are two teams in the NBA that Lin will likely struggle mightily against at this time: Miami Heat LA Lakers Why Lin Will Struggle Against The Heat: Miami's athletic perimeter defenders can get into Lin defensively and aggravate his still-developing handle. We saw this last year when Lin was with the Knicks Why Lin Will Struggle Against The Lakers: 1. Because of D'Antoni's fast-paced style, the opposition usually also ends up playing at a fast pace. This can cause problems if your handle isn't tight, and Lin's handle is not yet tight. I think it will get there, but it's not there yet. Especially going left 2. Dwight Howard. Against most teams, Lin can get past his defender and get to the rim pretty easily and get layups. As we saw last night, Howard erases many of those plays. This takes away a big part of Lin's game. 3. 3-point shooting. Lin still has to work on his long-range shot, and playing against D'Antoni's system often means many wide open 3's for your team. That is not something Lin is comfortable doing right now. ... So, the Lakers under D'Antoni and with Howard are probably THE worst match-up in the league for Lin at this moment in time. Even worse than Miami, who doesn't really have a shot blocking presence. So, if Lin can get past the Heat's perimeter defense and pick and roll blitzes, he can still score at the rim. What does it mean? Nothing. Because no other team plays D'Antoni's style or has the personnel that the Lakers and the Heat have. So, against the Heat and the Lakers, expect to see Douglas get more minutes. And expect Lin to struggle, for now. And expect the Lin Doubters to crow afterwards. Against the other 27 NBA teams, not so much. Lin has to improve his dribbling and shooting. Nothing new there. I'm sure he will. If you're a Lin fan, I wouldn't worry too much. If you're a Lin hater, I would enjoy it while you can.
Last night against the lakers.. Lin got into foul trouble trying to help his teammate on defense. 2 foul trying to take a charge. If the team play better defense , your pg would not have to take charges.
he is no joke he battle dinosaur even lebron can't top that http://www.thedreamshake.com/2012/12/4/3725802/linsanity
Interesting. So if I'm understanding you right, only the top... half? top 3rd? top 5? teams in pace + tall shot blockers would have a particular advantage against Lin? Going to look that up... Top 10 in pace: Houston, Lakers, Dallas, Milwaukee, Golden State, Charlotte, San Antonio, Phoenix, Miami Top 10 in blocks: Ibaka (OKC), Hibbert (IND), Sanders (MIL), Howard (LAL), Lopez (BKN), Duncan (SA), JSmith (ATL), Noah (CHI), Gortat (PHX), DJordan (LAC) Bolded the duplicates. So Milwaukee, San Antonio, and Phoenix should be especially troublesome for Lin by this measure. We'll see San Antonio soon; and it probably won't be pretty in any case. Thankfully they'll have a bit of time to game-plan and then maybe tape to review for the second try... Even though they face Dallas in the middle, whose pace wouldn't be a kindness to Lin either. Heh.
Harden has been shooting .369 the last 14 games, versus Lin's .385 over the same time period. Is this what you mean by Harden's "consistency"? Harden has been sucking worse than Lin!
Every coach wants to leave the bench players in when they play better, but most of them choose not to, because this is a player's league, coaches will be out of the door if the star players are not happy. The Rockets only has one star player in Harden, Sampson was not dare to bench him even when he played poorly. None of the other starters have that leverage yet, so Sampson can keep them on the bench when he wants to. Sampson tried TD for Lin in late game situation three times so far this season, failed twice to the Blazers, won once against the Lakers.
If you use "number of points score" as your base to judge whether he has a good or bad game, or stretches of games, then you are correct.
It is part. And even with good assist numbers, the way he runs the offense where he penetrates and doesn't finish but kicks it back out, running out the clock is detrimental.
If people are mad that Lin is not playing his 25mill value Harden isn't even close to playing his 80million value.
Wow, are you serious right now? Harden has been better than Lin these past 15 games despite shooting a low percentage because he has been getting to the line and making his free throws. Harden has been shooting, what, 37%? Well Lin has been shooting around the same but he hasn't been able to get to the line. I will say Lin's defense is a lot better than Harden's, but to outright cite numbers as evidence that Harden has definitely been better is just absurd.
Allow me to modify an earlier post. Changes bolded. Harden has been shooting .369 the last 14 games, versus Lin's .385 over the same time period. Is this what you mean by Harden's "consistency"? On top of which, the Beard's defense has been much worse. Harden has been sucking worse than Lin!
