So, what you're saying is that you actually have principles? What a concept!

Even if you don't have principles, a lot of people are locked into contracts with their providers and it would cost them a good sum of money to just simply change providers like RVR is suggesting.

Disgraceful the lack of appreciation shown for their fans by the Rockets Brass.

Exactly. Les Alexander does not get to choose my cable provider.

You know, I never thought after all these years of following the Rockets that I would be losing interest, but I am. Even the Les Alexander era, which has largely been a series of screw ups candy coated with PR-BS was not enough to drive me away, but being shut out from viewing the games has finally pushed me over the edge. I used to NEVER miss a Rocket's game, looked forward to everyone, win or lose. Now, since I can't see them play, I still care some, but my interest is quickly fading. I will still post on the Texans' threads, but I don't hardly post in the Rockets section any more, except here, and even then, not as frequently. :(

How do you like Dish? My wife wants to switch from Suddenlink to them because one of her friends did and she loves it.

I had DISH for the past two years. Decent prices, simple and straight forward DVR, plenty of HD channels.

I just switched to DirecTV last month. I noticed that a friend of mine who had Direct, his HD picture looked more sharp and crisp then mine did. Even though I have a better TV. Once I switched to Direct I noticed a big difference.

Other than picture quality (which wasn't too bad), I had no complaints with DISH.

I've had DirecTV, Comcast, and U-Verse (which I have now). Of the three Comcast ranks 10th. But that has nothing to do with my decision. I don't even like U-Verse especially much (though I like it way better than Comcast) and I'd change to even a bad cable company if I got a great deal.

I'm not against changing providers; I'm against extortion.

And it is a matter of principle to me not to change providers. Les chose his 20th or 30th million or billion over the fans. He sold us out. He doesn't get to line his pockets off of me anymore.

And I desperately wish I could go back and change my vote on the arena.

It is a sick joke to me that this site existed for that purpose pretty much alone. To save our Rockets so Houstonians could retain a pro basketball team.

Now those same Rockets have been snatched away from the MAJORITY of fans and there's hardly a peep from a single moderator.

I'm very disappointed in Clutchfans. Even more than the Chronicle. This used to be a fan site. In its heyday I have no doubt Clutch, Jeff and more would be editorializing on behalf of the fans. Instead it seems the site has become one more arm of the Rockets organization and, apart from allowing one stickied thread, is pretending it's not even happening.

Except the bastard games on NBA-TV, which are blacked out on NBA-TV unlike other nationally televised games and no on NBA-LP.

    :(

I remember the site being around long before the Save Our Rockets era.

I don't see any reason to call this site out. It's far from "one more arm of the Rockets organization" . These guys would be deleting threads like "Jeremy Lin is a joke" if that were the case.

They have been a very good television provider and relatively cheap. The most likely scenario is going to Uverse for internet while keeping Dish until someone forces a licensing deal through. At that point, I will decide whether to move to the licensed provider.

I still dont understand why those of yall who really want to see the games dont at least download the torrents?
They are great quality and so what if you have to watch the next day, at least you get to see it.
Anyone who figured out how to download my highlights in the past can use torrents, thats how I distributed them.

I know it isnt the best solution, but I refuse to allow them to keep me from seeing the games cause of a corporate dick-wagging contest.

I'll gladly point you guys in the right direction on what to use, and AstroRocket posts the links in his thread when they become available.

A big part of the enjoyment of watching sports comes from not knowing the outcome. If you already know who the killer is, why read the mystery?

I just want to add now: I caught the tail-end of the Lakers game on a pretty good watchable HD stream. It was on par with what I had seen from League Pass when it was in the free preview.

I am not going to link to it myself directly, but it has been in this very thread, and it does work well, and it is not filled to the brim with toxic hacker scammer ads.

I think I will give it a try and watch the entire game next time, see how it goes.

If it is good, and reliable, then I will be in complete 'I don't care' mode regarding this stupid tv mess.

I'm pissed too but you are missing out on a young team full of potential-- easily my favorite team since the team that pushes the lakers to seven after Yao broke his foot. Just look for the stream that Its My Fault is running and watch it on a laptop. Not perfect, but worth it. Give it a try. Pull up the thread called where to watch the rockets.

I think this is a playoff team and you shouldn't miss the development of this team. And you won't want to miss the playoffs.
