I do agree with what you are saying, even though I am a Lin fan. Lin did not look like the best player on the court in any of Rockets' games so far. Parsons did, Harden did, Patterson did, and maybe even Asik did. But Lin's play so far, ranged from good, solid, decent to terrible, relative to other Rockets players. He played very dumb today.

I don't think he played dumb he just got into foul trouble. So that through him off rhythm. He was trying to draw charges on Kobe. I think he is up there in terms of charges drawn on this team. I admire his defensive intensity but at the same time I do think he needs to learn when to pick his spots on the defensive end. Just a few thoughts.

Amazing how a handful of posters can degrade the quality of a message board so much...

My ignore list is bursting at the seams, and the GARM is still borderline unreadable.

Takes balls to bench your starting point guard for the remaining 15 minutes of the game. But Sampson has been consistent with this, if Douglas is playing well, he will keep Lin on the bench. It will always be controversial. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Knowing the kind of player Jeremy is, unlike Lowry, he will take this as a challenge to become a better player and use this to motivate him more.

Um, the previous game Lin basically carried the team in the 4th with his 19 points and 8 assists.

Tonight he got in foul trouble early, only took 7 shots, and all the starters weren't playing well. They were bricking TONS of wide open looks.

And he did play good defense for the most part he was out there, including driving Kobe out of bounds in an ISO.

Today the Bench was the better unit. It happens, and it's a GOOD thing.

True but like Commodore said. Lin is on a short leash & Harden can do no wrong.

If that will be so then that means Lin really was a joke.

Nothing gained, nothing lost on the debate tonight, though. Everybody gets into foul trouble.

I think the difference is that Harden is always a threat to get to the FT line whether his shot is falling or not. That combined with his ability to draw double teams consistently and kick it to the open player make him nearly impossible to sit no matter how off his shot is.

Lin attempted so many FTs last year. This year he's barely getting to the line. Just shows you how passive he's been this year, but apart of it is him protecting his body, which is probably a good thing in the long run.

It's more like Sampson is still treating Lin like a rookie while Harden is a proven star so he gets more leeway. Until Lin develops more consistency, he will keep losing playing time to TD.

I agree, but that might be due to the fact that he's always looking to get his teammates involved before trying to look for his own shot. He doesn't care about his stats as long as the Rockets win.

He did stand out in the Jazz game during the 4th quarter though imo.

You know Douglas took 17 shots today in less than 30 mins. That's more than Lin's entire season! He's just way too passive!!

there is no long run if Lin plays this passive no matter how good you are as team player.

after watching the game, I don't think Lin played passive. He put up 8 shots in limited minutes. it's very disappointed for the missing shots, most of them were wide open.

He did played aggressive help defense that caused him into foul trouble. One tried to help out Asik to defend Howard in the lost post and one tried to draw an offensive foul against Kobe in the first quarter. The 3rd also tried to draw an offensive foul against Kobe in last 3rd quarter.

    my 2cents.

Problem is Lin is a child among men on the basketball court when he faces great competition and he's having a bad game. Lin is just weak plain and simple. Even when Harden is off shooting wise he can still do other things on the court against great competition. Lin was totally owned last night and did not need to be on the court. All he represents is a marketing pitch to put fans in the seats. That's why he is a joke.
