Toney Douglas deserves all the praise tonight. He probably had a chip on his shoulder getting into this game and had extra motivation. D'Antoni didn't think highly of him and didn't use him much when they both were with the Knicks.

Hopefully Douglas can keep up and be our solid back-up PG, maybe the 6th man? ;)

    5-16, 1-7 from 3 that's why.

I remember one game a few years ago when the Rockets were beating up on the Spurs. And then the Spurs bench came back on the Rockets. Pop stayed with them and kept Duncan, Ginobili and Parker on the bench. Nothing wrong with riding the hot hand.

No. No need to change the lineup. Patterson is the only guy that could lose his starting job, and that won't happen anytime soon. Let the bench guys form a solid second unit that can step in and play more minutes when needed if the starters are struggling.

I hate over reactions like this. It's just one game and now this dude is dick riding the bench players? Just enjoy the win now. It is just one game!

This will never happen. He is the All-Star that Morey wants to develop in-house.

I like your optimism, but, IMHO, when your entire starting 5 look like crap, it's more than just 1 or 2 people having an off shooting night.

They weren't mentally prepared to play this game. Hopefully, this will be a great learning experience for them.

Thanks for saying you like my posts I genuinely appreciate that.

I don't even want to argue anymore. Thanks for the conversation though.

To the both of you, we won & that is all that matters. Don't mind me I am being nitpicky. ;) We have a big game on friday against the Spurs & the team needs to be ready for that.

Exactly. This was masterful coaching. Sampson didn't worry about egos but wanted to win with the guys who were hot tonight. So Lin, Asik and Parsons were sitting. Big deal. Know that they were just as ecstatic about the W as anyone else. I love this team because it's looking DEEP.

Classic Lin. Quiet when he has a good game himself, but praises his teammates for the win tonight when he didn't play well, knowing he'll get a lot of hate tweets:

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>GREAT team win! Shoutout to our bench for picking us up tonight...Thanks Red Nation for the energy!!</p>&mdash; Jeremy Lin (@JLin7) <a href="https://twitter.com/JLin7/status/276177513191985152" data-datetime="2012-12-05T04:13:44+00:00">December 5, 2012</a></blockquote>

Also, Sampson is touching base with McHale every day, sometimes twice a day, on TOP of attempting to be Head Coach and defensive assistant at the same time.

I think he's doing fine, and that the coaches are learning too. The Rockets are doing AMAZING given how hard their schedule has been and I don't think that's despite the coach, barring the initial bloopers (ie. Asik not in for rebounding and Lin out in OT).

Just think if Lin and Harden had good games. We would have blown them out.

This team has won its last 6 at home and is third in the NBA in scoring. Do you think there should be a change?

No not really. And I disagree with whoever said Patterson should lose his starting spot. He is a frustrating player & I am not to high on him at all but the more he plays the better his trade value goes up. I doubt the Rockets are going to keep him as the long term solution at the PF.
