http://deadspin.com/5965628/andre-j...us-for-kids-in-child-protective-services-care This is why he is my favorite Houston sports figure aside from Hakeem. The man is just pure class.
That's how you know toys these days are expensive lol a tickle me Elmo these days costs 60 bucks. But I give mad props to Andre. Perhaps in a few years after jj gets paid he can help out too
GOOD STUFF... but he shouldn't be bragging about it... just do it and let the kids enjoy, but don't bask in the glory. You're doing a charity, but shouldn't gloat. I'm glad he's on our team.
Have you seen Dre gloat, ever? It's the Texans PR, and good for them. Everyone wins in this situation.
he doesn't brag about it, he's done this almost every year, it only got on the news a couple of years ago, but this is the biggest amount he's purchased by far
DANG it. Now that I read my own post, it makes it seem like I said "he's bragging about it", when I know the pictures more than likely aren't his idea. I apologize if it reads that way. I know Andre is pure class... except for when certain cornerbacks get the best of him.
I know the Finnegan debacle might put a slight mark on his great reputation as a person and player but he is definitely a stand up guy that deserves more attention. It's sad to see what the media has become today.
Didn't know it was a shopping spree type of deal. that's pretty cool Andre Johnson takes at-risk kids on $19,521 shopping spree www.latimes.com/sports/sportsnow/la-sp-sn-andre-johnson-20121205,0,4630178.story/
He does this every year, but i guess it needed the picture for the national media to take notice. The local media always covers it.
Are there not better toy stores in Houston than Toys R' Us? I haven't been there in years, but I don't remember it being anything special.
A friend of mine commented that relative to his salary, this would be like him donating a couple hundred bucks. He makes a good point.
