Rick steps down and won't be a dictatorship anymore but instead run by a committee of Rick, Tyrese, Daryl and Hershel..

So a friend of mine recently got me hooked on TWD and I have to say it is pretty awesome. It took me about two weeks to get caught up to the episode last night.

A few things off the top of my head:

Favorite characters are Rick, Daryl, and Glen. Michhone is catching up though. What the hell is going on with Andrea?! She's turned into a super idiot!

Season 2 was probably my favorite season. It had those awesome twists and turns with Shane, Lori, Sofia, and others. I'm so happy Glen is with Maggie, he deserves it. I really hope they don't kill them off. The governor is 100% psycho. Rick needs to kill him. I hope Daryl stays loyal to Rick and not his douchebag brother.

Overall this is a really good series. I haven't read the comics so I don't know how it compares but this is easily my favorite tv show on right now. I can't wait for February!1

The reason there is a two month wait before the next episode is so Carl can grow a few inches. Dude looks like a midget next to his girl.

Glenn leaves the group. I'm assuming that's why he says to Maggie, "You and I can end this tonight." Either that or they're gonna kill Merle.

Well he's a 14 year old boy playing a 14 year old that is sparking a relationship with a 17 year old played by a 28 year old.

Carol went from my least favorite character during the Sofia's missing arc to one of my favorites, just in that last episode in the scene with Clem. That one scene was all sorts of awesome (all that could have made it better if she stabbed him through the eye with a piece of glass... oh wait, that awesome move was already done by Michone).

Cast thoughts on the second half of the season and the development the plot and their characters will take

Yeah, but in her mind she was about to slice up the Gov and end Woodbury all together. I was screaming at the TV when she tried to choke him with the scabbard instead of chopping him in the back.

I find that funny. But Carl should have slapped axel for perving on his girl.

Yeah. If not for Andrea Michonne would have killed the Governor. Her desire was not to use anything for leverage to escape.

I normally despise cliffhangers because they seem predictable and contrived. But this time the writers deserve credit. They also get some slack because it's only 2 months until the next episode.

Season-ending cliffhangers are very hard to do well. IMO, it's better when a season finale is conclusive and offers satisfaction instead of trying to artificially bait people into anticipating the next season. I expect the Feb-Apr 2013 segment TWD to end with a bang.

Rick hasn't even met the Governor yet. Michonne's hate for him felt rushed and shallow. Seems more like she's simply a vengeful, tough person than truly, deeply mad at him. Which is fine.

I just hope Rick grows to hate him for deep-rooted reasons.

I want the audience to grow to hate him. At this point I can see his side, you take from others and protect what you have. It's not right but you've got to do what you've got to do. His followers are safe, happy.

When things get going between him and Rick I hope they take it slow, build something dynamic, powerful and meaningful between the two. If it takes 2 seasons so be it. Draw it out. Make it right.

Was going to comment on this at some point.

This is the first MAJOR mistake by the show in my opinion. They've done a really poor job at making us hate the governor and they haven't really made it logical why things are happening.

Michonne basically has a deep seeded hatred for the man and wants to kill him for...saving Andrea's life. It just didn't make any sense. Even the Maggie scene, yeah he tormented her for a few minutes, but he never actually hurt her. He has a love for his zombie daughter still. I mean, this guy is supposed to be the big bad guy?

The only reason we have to be against him really is that he doesn't like the "main characters" who we are preconditioned to see as the good guys.

See, Michonne killing his daughter. That's powerful in the sense that you understand why he would hate her, but not vice versa. So again, you're almost siding with him in a small way as a viewer.

Michonne doesn't hate him for helping Andrea, she hates him for trying to kill her after she left. But still, that's revenge not hatred... and it's weak.

I would imagine there's something else that we dont know about her, perhaps in the comics, that hasn't come out yet in the show. She seems to hate walkers a little too much, maybe i missed it, but perhaps something happened in her past that caused such hatred. She hates the fact that the gov is keeping walkers alive.
