It's pretty evident we're a better team when Lin is the primary ball handler.

Neither Rubio nor McMillan has the scoring potential that Linsanity has already demonstrated. Kidd may not have been much of a scorer, but he was still two or three times better than these guys. And so is Lin.

I'm a Lin fan, and you posts regarding Lin are annoying me.

Destroy them? ni**a please. How exactly, have you been destroying them.

My initial thoughts are my eyes hurt and a slight wish that you could post a screenshot of a table. ;)

Secondary thoughts are that I wish I had the time to go back and count the number of assists Lin attempted for total assist attempts, and then scale that to league average assists per sector (ie. 3pt, jump, close, dunk), because not only was Lin missing everything in sight but Asik early on was bobbling every other pass, and not finishing when he wasn't dropping the ball, Patterson made me yell whenever he got the ball because it just would not go in, Morris hesitated on the catch and drove and missed, and Harden was dropping in efficiency pretty much every game after the first two. Parsons managed to hit at a league average clip, but he was about it, I think. I'd have to go back and check.

One of the reasons why Lin was so effective with the Knicks is because they had the pieces around him in place who could finish; Tyson with dunks and close shots, Novak/Iman with three pointers, Fields with the transition buckets and the cuts.

Morey in fact got interviewed saying that the team was getting good looks and he was happy with the looks, but the shots just weren't falling. And that if the shots fell at league average, the Rockets would be offensively producing at above average rate. And I think it's just that now the shots are falling... so in theory these recent and hopefully next couple games might be more indicative of Lin's growth/similarities to other players.

    We'll see!

Go hide then. Let the haters bully you. You look like the perfect victim.

Make the haters look like morons. They won't stop hating but maybe they will be more carefull before demonstrating their idiocy once more.

    Allegro,

You need to step back and take a chill pill bro. You're not going to MAKE anyone like Lin. If you want to see an example of how to correct people's misperceptions about Lin then look at torocan's posts.

At this rate your posts are getting close to spam. Just have patience. Lin's been proving people wrong his entire life on the basketball court, he'll do it again, you don't need to discard your sanity over it.

Dude, you need counseling. You are kind of dork - you were prob bullied growing up, and think somehow you need to make your stand in a god-damn Houston Rockets forum.

I'm sorry to break it to you, but you do not do a good job in this regard.

but that's not what usage percentage is. You are misusing the stat and assuming way too much. Usage percentage is literally

    100*[(Team Minutes)/(5*(Player Minutes))]*[(Field Goal Attempts)+0.44*(Free Throw Attempts)+(Turnovers)/[(Team Field Goal Attempts)+0.44*(Team Free Throw Attempts)+Team Turnovers)].

there's no way to scale this stat to anything without assuming way too much. Basically what you are doing is literally saying "if Lin took arbitrarily more FG's, arbitrarily more FTA and made arbitrarily more TO's, he would get more rebounds, assists, steals, while still scoring at the same efficiency."

You can literally do this to any player with low usage rate and say they if you "scale up" his stats, it would be equal to an all star's.

So amusing that it is so easy for you to dismiss my stats but somehow your stats which you needed to "adjust for USG%" carries more weight in your mind.

In reality, none of these stats are even statistically significant because there is not enough sample size since Lin only played 16 games this season.

This thread is absolutely ridiculous...From Lin being compared to CP3 to him being the 2nd coming of Jason Kidd, a guy who came close to averaging a triple-double for an entire season on more than one occasion...LOF have lost it...Lock it up, there's no salvaging the garbage in this thread.

how do you measure which players is better then the other?
    what are your criteria?
Can you state clear criteria 1,2,3...? then I think we will have a better ground for discussion, arent we?

I'm embarrassed by my fellow Lin fans...

You are not helping to make people like him by comparing him to those great proven point guards. Actually you're making other fans into Lin haters...

I now know why there are so many LOHs out there...

These voting articles really piss me off. It's funny how we champion democracy and the importance of voting and yet if they don't vote a certain way then people are upset by it

He's just saying Lin has the potential to be Kidd, nothing wrong with that. Whether it becomes true or not we don't know yet. People have compared other players to other veterans, I don't know what the problem is?

    I am with you.

There should always be a point of reference. He's just talking about the potential. But like any other comparison and/or analysis, there are other variables. We'll just have to wait and see.

Btw, I heard our play by play announcers called Lin "Nash like" more than once.

Potential is such a bad word to use on someone that hasn't even played half a season worth of games. Especially with an average to below average start to the season.
