It's pretty evident we're a better team when Lin is the primary ball handler.

Kidd was the no.2 pick, roy, and almost won a mvp. Lin is on the same path? How many undrafted players have been 2nd in mvp voting?

I would be happy if Lin can average 14-8 on 57 ts%. Some people have unrealistic expectations of Lin.

But Lin has already demonstrated that his production does go up with increasing usage. Hint: Linsanity.

That's a feeble argument. Kidd is near retirement. Get back to me when Lin is at a similar stage in his career.

I'm only saying that Lin's potential is Kidd.

This is amusing and I wonder how much of it is on purpose; I wouldn't be surprised if Lin modeled some of his game after Kidd because I remember an interview of him saying that he stayed up late to watch the finals where Kidd and the Mavs won the championship.

Tired of the Chinese national team wearing out our players over the summer. If Lin gets one, just one, off season of rest from them, there is no doubt in my mind he can be the next magic Johnson.

    Are you trolling?

Lin has nothing to do with the Chinese national team. The only team he could play on internationally will be the USA team. He's born American.

Clutch, can you create a Lin ghetto thread in the GARM, and please restrict some of my my fellow LOFs to post only in this ghetto. Sorry, Allegro and Just a Word, you guys need to GTFO.

What is wrong with you? People can have their opinion about Lin. If you don't like it you should GTFO of this thread.

No matter how much you believe something to be true, some things are better left said once - If you feel the need, you can bookmark your post, and come back 4-5 years later, and say, see I told you so. Take it to a Lin only forum - with fans spouting off at the mouth like some these people, Jeremy doesn't need any enemies, you will create animosity towards Jeremy, where none would have existed for a good majority of the people.

    What in the world?

Just because a mentioning a kid might have modeled his game after a guy he looked up to does not mean that I'm saying that he's Jason Kidd right now.

...unless this is solely due to this profile's date of birth. :p can't I not be judged on the content of my character?

Look, all I'm saying is... I'm hopeful, that in the near future there will be a time when statements about Jeremy this and Jeremy that... will all be common held belief by the majority of fans, but until such time, those lofty comparisons will only serve as ammo to dump on Lin, or LOF (this still cracks me up) by proxy.

I thought Clutch said he was limiting thread starting privileges. LOF's go to your Lin board. There is one on the net and it's good for you guys.

Well, sorry I am tired of people mostly some vets on here dumping on Lin just because some fans believe they remind them or have potential to be a certain type of player. They have the right to say they don't think so, but others should also have the right to say they do. And the animosity has already been there from the beginning from some posters, for different reasons, even before he played for the team. These people might or might not change their mind whatever you say or don't say. BTW it's not about I told you so either, it's expressing their opinion now, who knows what will happen in the future.

Have you MET fandom? They're a bag of cats at the best of times; people still think Kobe is overrated, Lebron is not clutch, etc, etc. Once you get to a certain level of celebrity the haters will come. And I don't know whether you're trying to 'protect' Lin (which, one, he's dealt with far worse than this, and two, I highly doubt he reads these or any forums, especially given his statement about avoiding the news), or to protect his fans (which, lol, that's kind but no thank you), or to prevent drama on these boards.

Which, newsflash, they're internet boards: drama happens. This is so much calmer than bleacher report and espn conversations. Hell, even the dreamshake over at sb nation has it; everywhere that has passionate fans will get this dynamic after a certain tipping point of fans.

In my view you either pick a quiet fandom or you pick a big fandom, there's really no middle unless it's a 'dead' fandom. (ie. Magic Johnson, Michael Jackson, miscellaneous old tv shows that no one's ever heard of, etc., indie music... until the indie band goes mainstream and then the original fans gets pissed off at the new fans coming in just because it's 'cool' and not respecting the band's history and being too mainstream and DOESN'T THAT SOUND FAMILIAR?)

Haters will hate Lin regardless, this is true. What does that have to do with posting opinions that Lin will be the next this or that. Let's wait until the end of the season, I'm confident that Jeremy will have a very good start to his NBA career (this is the start right?).

Kobe and Lebron have a body of work, which is undeniable, lol. Whether you hate them or not, their game is undeniable. Let's wait until Jeremy has a body of work of at least a couple of years.

Moreover, there really are better places online if all you want to do is talk about Jeremy.
