Hickson 11.6 points, 10.5 rebs 53% FG in 29 min/gm 8th in NBA in rebounding Varejao 15 points, 15 rebs 54% FG in 35 mins/gm 1st in NBA in rebounding How are these scrubs doing this without Lebron Varejao himself has more points and rebounds that Odom and Gasol combined
um...lol...varejo is not a scrub. and hickson is an athletic forward getting good amount of minutes next to Aldridge...not that surprsiing
Still don't think Hickson is very good. He's putting up decent numbers on a crappy team pretty much by default. He's still a poor defender and pretty clueless. Obviously he's talented, but I don't think he's nearly as good as his numbers might indicated. Varejao won't keep this up and his stats might be a bit inflated, too, but he's a stud for sure. Love watching him.
I don't agree that being on a bad team makes your stats better. When you're on a bad team, it's easier to focus to defense on the few talented players they have. And Varejao slow down? What makes you say this? And how are his numbers inflated? The lowest number rebounds he's had this year is 7, and he's had rebounding in the teens for most of the season and is keeping it up.
you're right, that 26 game losing streak the cavs went on the season after lebron left really made that "no help" argument look ridiculous.
So much disrespect for Anderson Varejao, the player who carried the Cleveland Cavaliers to the 2007 NBA Finals.
It was because Varejao got injured. They played pretty decently the first few games when Varejao actually played.
they started the season half decently with a lot of close wins and blowout losses. but i believe they were about 10 games into the losing streak when varejao got injured. would it have hit 26 with varejao? probably not. were they still really bad even with varejao? yes.
Varejao has been a double-double machine since LeBron left Cleveland. In the last two seasons, though, he has always gone down with a season-ending injury. He's no scrub.
Lebron's Cavs career, who was the next best player during that time? If you have an immediate answer to that, you might be a Cavs fan or Lebron hater in spite. I don't think the regular fan can answer that too quick.
