The nicest theater in town. It's only 15-20 minutes from where you live. I had dinner there twice this weekend. Very good food for a movie house.

Wow what a theater. I can't decide which format to see the movie the first time: 2D, IMAX 3D, or HFR 3D. I usually hate 3D, but it seems this is the biggest thing since Avatar for visuals because of the higher frame-rate.

Wow! That looks great. My only complaint is the location. The Drafthouse I mentioned is an electric bike ride from my house (hell, DD can probably walk to it, if he can escape his multiple screens with his multiple accounts, cranking out a post with each hand on two keyboards, while trying to decide between The Baron, King_D, and BahDakota as monikers). Going to this theatre will be a bit of an expedition. We have great friends who live in Lago Vista, though, and this appears to be a terrific option for meeting to see a movie, drinks, and food. I hope they eventually put one out my way. :)-

15 bucks but I doubt I will ever watch anything on it. The Dine-In screens are just too nice and they have reserved seating. The food is pretty good also. I personally like their burgers more than Hopdoddy and the kids love the fish and chips.

The waiters are nice enough but there are only 4 waiters to take the orders so sometimes it takes a while just to place your order. However, once your food is ordered, the runners get your food out to you pretty quick. The food is tons better than Alamo and it doesn't smell like an armpit.

Definitely more expensive for the tickets than the Drafthouse, but the seating really looks nice, and it wouldn't surprise me if the food was better. It looks better. It's crazy just how much you can spend at these places. At least I get a senior discount (and wish I didn't qualify!). Just being able to reserve a seat and arrive 5 or 10 minutes before a showing, walk in and sit down makes it worth it for us.

    Wooohooo! Awwwwww.

Didn't know about that theatre, and it's very close to me. That's awesome. Hadn't heard about this frame rate making people sick, and I get motion sickness relatively easily. That's less awesome.

Its 12 bucks for the watch and dine seats which is only 2 bucks more than a normal theater. Did I mention the seats fully recline?

    Edit:

    I meant 2 bucks not 10 bucks

Not exactly, but check out Sundance Cinemea in downtown Houston and the River Oaks theater. They offer comfortable seating, indie and mainstream movies, cleanliness, and non-ghetto crowds. However, neither of them serve food like the one near Lake Travis. Also, nothing beats watching blockbusters like Lord of the Rings and Star Wars on giant screens with powerful audio. These upscale theaters don't provide that experience.

BTW, the LOTR trilogy is playing at several theater around town Sat morning from 11am to 11pm. I think it's only the shorter theatrical versions though.
