What CSN should do is what AMC did, when they were at odds with providers, they streamed shows LIVE on their websites. CSN should show games online.

I have never once called in. I have always done the online chat and just asked for a supervisor to join the chat. Don't waste your time with the initial tech as you will get no where. My 80.00 credit was all gotten from the online chat.

Sure, but I'm sure that's not going to fly with the NBA.

    From http://blog.chron.com/ultimaterockets/2012/11/defense-tv-distribution-top-rockets-priorities/:

    [rquoter]
Veteran TV executive Chris Bevilacqua, who founded CSTV (now CBS Sports Network) and has negotiated broadcast deals for the Texas Rangers and San Diego Padres, said it’s too early for CSN Houston to back down on subscriber fees.

“To have 40 percent when you launch is pretty good,” he said. “I think it will eventually lead to where most regional sports networks are, which is full distribution in their home territory. I suspect the same will happen in Houston.

“It’s too early to compromise. These companies (producers and distributors) do a lot of business with each other. That’s why these things tend to get worked out.”

Hutchings said “tens of thousands” of viewers have signed online petitions asking providers to add the channel.

“I think our channel is good across the board, and I’m proud of the way we cover the Rockets. … We’re getting into regional and local sports, which resonates with people.”[/rquoter]

Basically, don't expect a resolution any time soon. May have to wait til next season.

If anyone was wondering where the office for these people are, it's right next to the house of blues. I saw it on the way to eat before the rush concert.

So, are you a Rockets fan or a Uverse fan?

    ;)

Disagree. Seems like any amount of elementary due diligence would have shown that this stalemate would be inevitable.

So you really think when they did this 2+ years ago, they knew this would drag on this long? I know you hate the Rockets right now, but let's be a little level-headed if possible.

It's been a month of regular season games, I'm sure they figured it would drag on even longer. Heck, I think even the Knicks had this same thing going on for over a month and a half.

Very seldom do I agree with Batman Jones, but you are really just being a jerk about this whole thing. Even bringing it up in other threads now. We get it. You get the channel and we don't. You think the channel is awesome and will be good for the Rockets in the long run. So do I. That doesn't mean that it doesn't suck that I can't watch the games on my TV and instead have to huddle over the computer watching terrible quality streams, while using up all of my internet for the month because I live outside of the city where high speed internet is not available other than through a Wireless device. Just let us complain and go about your business. It obviously doesn't affect you, so why must you continue to brow beat those that it does affect?

All they had to do was google "CSN Portland" to get an idea of what they would be dealing with. The first link listed (that wasn't part of CSN's website) was this:

That piece of due diligence took me about 13 seconds.

You don't think the fact that Blazer fans who have Dish and Direct TV haven't been able to get CSN for 6 years now should have raised any red flags at all?

I will wait one year and then I will switch to Comcast if its still unresolved. I hate greedy CSN. I don't understand this long negotiation. Wasted my time. They should have started the negotiation two years ago.

So because one team has had a situation like this go on for longer than a year, the Rockets should not have looked at doing this and stuck with a worse deal for them with Fox Sports? I'm sure they knew that this was a possibility, but I doubt very much they thought this would be a certainty.

Bottom line, if one thinks the Rockets don't care about how this is affecting their fans and are A-OK about how this is all going down, I don't think one is looking at this situation correctly.

What do you expect them to do now? As MadMax has stated, the teams don't have the negotiating rights.

That's all I'm saying. If they knew it was a possibility, then all of this has to fall on their shoulders. They gambled and lost.

You can't jump into a river full of hungry alligators wearing a suit made of of raw meat and then blame the gators when one of them bites you.
