Maybe they know something we don't about his knee. In any case I wouldn't say 33 minutes is an insult. It still puts him around the top 50 players in the league in minutes played. You'll notice Asik is getting played about the same amount.
No story here. Douglas was doing ok early 4Q, so Lin probably brought in a little bit late. Having said that, I felt Sampson still left Lin and Harden on the bench a couple of minutes too long. You should know your bench. Even though Douglas hit a couple of shots, the offense still looked disorganized. Morey said your shooting percentages over time reflect the types of shots you're getting, and Douglas doesn't consistently get good shots for the team. But to be fair to Sampson, it was an ok decision, and the bench had been playing well. Just a couple of minutes too late to bring the starters back. Gave the Jazz a bit of momentum, which we fortunately were able to stall. 4Q is not the time to given an opponent any momentum.
Remember that Lin got 38 minutes vs Toronto. So he plays even better than that and gets fewer minutes. I think Sampson is still grudging with Lin's playing time. Thanks for that, I'm hoping too.
Ok If Lin plays too many minutes you LOF'S say "He had a bad game because he was too tired dumb coach should rest him" and now that hes getting more rest and playing ok "Hes not playing enough play him 40 minutes a game dumb coach" Seriously? You guys are never satisfied.... Anyways good game by the Rockets onto the Lakers!
Didn't he play 40 mins in OKC. Lin didn't even play that well, but I think TD was playing pretty badly and taken out early.
It's better for Lin to get less minutes anyways. Dude was overused in NY and got injured. The season is 82 games long.
I noticed in this game, especially in the second half, quite a few times when the Jazz just scored and both Harden and Lin were starting to go up the court, Harden gave the ball to Lin and let him bring up the court and initiate offense. I don't know if it's coach's plan or just Harden being very unselfish. If it's the latter, then I really have huge respect for him. Him intentionally let Lin set the offense will no only increase Lin's confidence and performance but also help the team to diverse plays. That's the spirit of sacrifice and team mentality. Whatever the reason, it's clear that Harden and Lin share the play-making responsibilities will only do team good.
Funny how when Lin was 6/11 with around 8 assists in the 4th quarter the Jazz commentators were questioning whether he would ever be a "legitimate" point guard.
So stupid. If Zombie Jason Kidd can be a "legitimate" starting point guard these last few seasons, why can't Lin?
This kind of conversation is getting old and overplayed. At the very least, Lin is an excellent backup pg. I don't have a problem with criticism of his game, no player is exempt from that, but it's sickening that people are using Lin's name to garner more attention for themselves like that stupid Huffington Post idiot. I guess it comes with being a household name, which most basketball players aren't, even the big superstars. (I asked my mom to name some basketball players and she could only come up with: MJ, Shaq, Kobe, LeBron, and Jeremy Lin. LOLOLOL.)
Because it has become popular to ask that question whether he is a legitimate starter. People have just stopped thinking things through. He's the starting PG on a team that is 8-8 the youngest team in the NBA without there head coach. Lin is fine.
Please explain why you're b****ing about minutes when the team already won? Lin isn't back 100% from his surgery honestly I would limit him to 30-35 mins every game until he gets his explosion back. If you're really a Lin fan you should put his health above his statline.
I don't know if Lin ever needs to average more than 35 a game given the injury history he already has at such a young age. Lots of players don't play more than that. Steve Nash only played over 35mpg one season in his career.
Team Basketball Win Games Watch the D'Antoni interview on this. It is about getting a 38 on team basketball when everyone gets high scores, that's why it was shocking. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RwLSe_6TrFQ
