Yeah i don't know what he is doing with our defense. And he isn't holding James Harden accountable at all on that end. Also his substitution patterns leave a lot to be desired. I think his love affair with Douglas has to be because they are planning on moving him soon & they are just trying to get his trade value up. At least I hope that is what it is.
Go easy on the coaches. No so long ago, we were all screaming for them to give up Harden ISO ball. They focused on integrating everyone into the offense. So defense has lagged. I'm sure that's next on the agenda. Rome wasn't built in a single day. Patience
not sure but he's a big body, hard worker, and doesn't try to do too much very efficient so far, has the highest TS% and FG% on the team
The home WINS streak continues! Not gonna lie, I sensed a loss with that ugly start. Lin's first couple of shots not going and his pass that look straight out of Space Jam, turnovers galore, lazy defense, etc. but they turned it around pretty quickly. The return of GODfino! Had a nice solid game, great to have him back. Chandler pissed me off throwing that long ass shot at the end of a quarter. Im more concerned about his shoulder than he is. Jeremy started pretty meh, but picked it up big time, especially in the end when the game was too close for comfort and his alter-ego Linsanity emerged! Kept beating MoWilliams off the dribble Looks like today they had Jeremy orchestrating the offense more than usual no? I love the tonight's box score, look at all the pretty even shot numbers Parsons -19 Patterson - 20 Asik - 14 Harden - 18 Lin - 19 Delfino - 13 Smith - 13 With no one being necessarily "hot", everyone contributed nicely on the offense.
Could be. We do know that the trust from the coach is still grudging because Toney Douglas is still getting big minutes (14 min tonight). When Lin becomes a true triple-double threat, just as Jason Kidd was in his prime, the opposing coaches will have heart failure. He may not achieve that level this season though.
Agreed. What is so surprising to me is how the starters are gelling in a relatively short period. This is only their 16th game together, having never played with each other before (save for Parsons and Patterson). There's great talent there, and no doubt some excellent coaching. Not only that, the performance from each and every starter is progressing with every game. It's amazing to watch. And the bench is deep, also progressing and will get deeper when DMo and Jones get more PT and experience.
i think he can do more than he did tonight....i think they will get to harden coming off screens.....and hitting it....i think LIN takes control soon
Wasn't really a dig. Was just that people kept saying wait for McHale to be back for our defense to pick up. But Sampson is supposed to be our defensive co-ordinator. I think what Morey said is correct. Our half-court D when Asik is around is decent enough. It is transition D and halfcourt D when Asik goes out. I like Greg Smith, and he is super efficient and high energy on offense, but he hasn't been too useful in the middle on D.
Exactly. Some days they play amazing D and others they don't. Depends on the opposing team and adjusting. Bottom line, though - can't win without Asik.
i don't think it's a matter of trust. Sampson just dislike Lin from the start (or he just loves Douglasanity). i noticed many times the guys aren't setting picks when Lin calls for them. in this game, there was a time when that happened, Lin just pretty much say "oh *** it" and just took it one-on-one. he did that right afterwards too. Lin needs to get a little play his game and don't worry too much about what a scrub interim coach says. screw Sampson.
Lin is playing 34.4 minutes per game ranking him 13th in the league for all PG's. The highest Jrue Holiday is only 4 more minutes at 38.4 minutes per game. 14 minutes from your backup point is nothing out of the ordinary. Won't even respond to the 2nd part of your post. Just delusional
