    I live in Beaumont and will probably make the drive out to Houston to catch one of those high frame rate showings. Are there any theaters on that list that any of you would recommend? Are any of them particularly nice? If not then I'll just find the closest one.

    The Alamo Drafthouse on Slaughter at Mopac in SW Austin has The Hobbit in 3D 48fps, and I already have my reserved seat ticket for December 14th, ha ha!

    The Drafthouse I mentioned is outstanding. It's always packed and has terrific projection and sound, nice seats and sight lines. I wouldn't be surprised if it's the first in Austin to get the new Dolby Atmos sound that Jackson is using for the first time. Alamo said that it was considered a template for new theaters it's building as the company expands. They're experimenting with reserved seating and other stuff. Nothing like drinking something on tap while you watch a flick!
