    THIS SONG smh
When this song came out ('86), I was 13 and playing drums for a jazz trio that I had formed a couple of years earlier. After hearing this song I got hit hard by the producing bug and decided to start DJ'ing to speed up my money flow.

Hustled some DJ'ing equipment from a friend of mine from NY and immediately started doing parties. About a year later I had enough to buy the studio equipment and start producing. 26 years later I'm sitting in my home studio as I type this. All because of Marley Marl and this song lol

Thanks for the find Icehouse. Brings back a lot of memories.

Excellent vid and song. Loved the intricate layering of samples from 80's rap and hip hop. And NOBODY had better flow than Rakim. Paid in Full, Microphone Fiend, Lyrics of Fury...he was YEARS ahead of his time.

He was right on time to influence the hip hop explosion in the early 90's but radio has killed hip hop. nobody really progressing the artform
