You mean like when Aldridge was sinking hook shot after hook shot in the post over Patterson's shorter, outstretched arms, and lit up Houston for 29 and 27 points?

    Yep. Did not go unnoticed.

I don't get why people keep assuming LMA can't play defense. From what I've seen, he's a decent post defender and great on the PnR. I wonder if y'all actually watch him play or if there's just this perception that if you're a big man that can shoot, you're automatically a terrible defender.

Another Portland loss and they are now 6-10. LMA led all scorers again of course.

Portland has Batum, they dont need Parsons. I would give them anyone but Harden and Asik, I would want to keep Parsons but I would consider trading him for LMA. LMA would be perfect next to Asik and we would be a top 4 team in the West for sure. A lineup of Asik, LMA, Parsons, Harden, Lin would be a strong one for sure.

He's not terrible, but he doesn't give enough effort on defense and he's not very strong for his height. He kind of reminds me of Pau or Dirk on D.

Give them our power forwards and a draft pick. They can have any 2 of these.. Patterson/Morris/Jones/Motiejunas/White

LMA got an underrated offensive game. Would take him over any of our PFs right now obviously.

Don't think we have the assets now to get this deal done. We can sign someone but won't be able to trade for him I don't think unless we give up alot to get him. I'd personally rather develop Pat/Dmo at this point because Asik/Parsons/Lin/Harden are so young. Just my 2 cents.

I think they'd have to consider our offer since they can have full cap space (not have to take any salary back) and young bigs to grow with Batum and Lillard. I'm not sure it's the best offer, just depends whose prospects they like best among the suitors.

But should Morey trade the farm for LMA even if they agree to except something like Morris + Motiejunas + a pick?

    me to...and heres why
were it not for a referee mistake against miami and a unlucky overtime loss against portland we would be the 4th in the west now...and we have just barely started! ...barring some bad injury of our players we are a legitimate playoff contenders with this ultra young and unexperienced team...imagine them playing a year or 2 together....

Two years from now LMA would be 29, and his nagging back injury might have become worse.

This goes for the other poster too, I'm not arguing whether LMA is a good player, I think he is. However, the type of injury he has tends to get worse, not better over time.

The thing about Aldridge is he can score so easily and his post game is very undrrrated... He is the 2nd best Pf behind Kevin Love right now just like James Harden is the 2nd best Sg behind Kobe Bean Bryant...Having two guys in the top 2 in there respected positions and you pair them with Asik up and coming Center and a up and coming Sf Parsons makes this Rockets team a threat in the playoffs...

If you are getting an all star, you go for the all star. Last season, his beasting to a level where some are saying his the best player of his position.

His skill level match perfectly with Rox, someone that can play the pick and pop/roll. And a low post threat, hence taking away the over dependence of Harden.

Yes, injuries is always a big red flag, but LA is not someone that depends on his atheletism so, I trade every single PF we have AND the picks of the next 5 years for him.

If he becomes available and we can get him without giving up Harden, Parsons or Asik I'd say its a no brainer. If we need to give up Asik OR Parsons it would be tough to swallow but Id be ok with it. If we have to give up both or Harden Id say no.

Aldridge injuries are a concern but with his skill it's a gamble worth taking. That being said, I don't think he is available. He is still the cornerstone of Portland with a couple of up and coming young players in Batum and Lillard. They might have their big three in a year with those guys alone...

The guy literally has a stiff back. Like the kind you would get sleeping in the wrong position.

It's a testament to how terrible the Blazers' training staff truly are, that they struggle to treat even back "stiffness."

If I were LMA, first of all, I would not stop smiling, because that would mean that I'm an elite basketball player and millionaire. But after I got all that smiling out of the way, I would get my butt out of Portland. The organization there doesn't seem to know how to take care of their players' bodies, and Aldridge might add years more of productive basketball to his career if that relationship could be severed.
