Tough job being a police officer when you never know what kind of maniac your going to have to deal with on a daily basis. Surprised this doesn't happen more.
2 unarmed people shot into swiss cheese. 13 officers. 137 rounds. The FBI needs to move in immediately.
I'm not sure why his is big news. Excessive shots? Perhaps... But every one of those officers was looking out for their own lives, against people who were acting criminally. They didn't have a gun, but that wasn't known, and while it proved to be a mistake, it was thought they were armed. But armed or not, this could have been easily avoided. I'm not sure what protocol is. But i suspect if it was truly a mistake wrt whether they had a weapon, then the only thin to address is why they fired so so many shots. I can see 3-5 per officer, but 10+ I'd agree is a little much. Nonetheless, if I thought someone was coming at me with a gun, would I fire 1 shot, 2, 10, 20...???

Yeah, but you'll have jugheads like IMF and RR who will assume it is, because some people are always willing to assume the worst about police officers.
Story says the suspects hit two police cars head on. Sounds like the driver was using the vehicle as a weapon.
137 rounds by 13 officers. That's more than 10 rounds per officer. That's a lot of led flying through the air. Maybe some of the cops had guns in both hands.
That's about a full magazine per officer assuming standard mags. Not excessive when you think about it. Again, why is nobody questioning why the two led the police on a high-speed chase? Just because they didn't have a weapon that started the initial chase doesn't mean that they are innocent of anything else. People are so quick to judge against the police when they don't know all the facts.
