Rockets Games at Jake's Philly Steaks

    I think we have the best Chile Con Queso in town. We modeled it after the old Mama's Cafe (closed now). Hence the reason we brought over Liann and Blake and a few of their cooks. Personnaly I like the Fajita Philly Steak or Chicken with the Chile Con Queso and Pico de Gallo. We also started making a new "Buffalo Philly" for some customers that wanted it and it is available now and will be on the new menu. It is spicy chicken with buffalo sauce, provolone cheese, and ranch dressing. Once again we make our own fresh ranch dressing and it's just about as good as you can get (we are very particular when it comes to making fresh dressings and sauces whenever possible. We have some customers that will say the best sandwich in the world is our Pastrami Supreme....pastrami, provolone cheese, coleslaw, pickles, red mayonnaise sauce (we had a customer round trip it from Katy just to get one to go last week). And for those that don't like Cheese Steaks, we have what some are saying is one of the best burgers they have ever eaten, in that we use quality beef, fresh ingredients and a specially made bun. Kind of a long answer, but's it's 5:30 and I'm hungry. Thank you. The Managment.

    Please note that the first thing we did when we took over September 1st was #1 clean the place up; #2 add bigger and better TV's; #3 listen to the customer; #4 enlarge the menu and appetizers; #5 provide only quality beef and ingredients and limit the amount of frozen prepared items; #6 more beer/more specials; etc. For example, prior to September 1, the chicken was average quality and FROZEN! No more of that; we use a fresh, more expensive, quality trimmed chicken breast that cost us over 25% more than the previous chicken that was being used.....and I can attest to a number of people saying "it was crap" back then. We still have some hurdle's to overcome with consistency and quality preparation, but we will get there as soon as possible. Thank You. The Management.

    If we violated something, we apoligize. Is that response good or bad (to the hangourt)? We've been trying to take care of the clutch fans at Jake's and they are always asking for specials.     I didn't see this thread until it hit the Hangout so it's not that bad. Hehe. I'll have to check out sometime. Unfortunately I'm one of the many screwed DirecTV Rocket's fans.

    Bacon? We have Applewood Smoked bacon that we can put on anything you like from Cheese Steaks to Hamburgers to salad, etc. etc. Thank you. The Management

    You guys need to add milkshakes to your menu, so you can have a cheesy jingle that says

    GETS YOUR PHILLY STEAKS! AND ALL YOUR SHAKES! AT JAKES!

    then end it with a freezeframe

    I know part of you posting in here is to gather feedback/criticism, so here goes.

    I ordered chips and queso a couple of weeks ago and it had to be the most generic melted cheese I've had outside of a stadium or movie theater in as long as I can remember. I even made a comment after my first bite that it was almost like microwaved Velveeta - not bad, but definitely lacking.

    When I order queso, I don't just want "cheese dip". I want some spice to it - bits of onion, jalapenos, and other peppers. If you want to imitate someone's queso, pay a visit to Jax Grill. Everyone I've ever shared it with gets hooked.

    I don't mean to complain too much, but hopefully you don't mind the honesty.

    Dear Clutch Fan, I’m going to try my best to answer your feedback on our Chile con Queso WITHOUT TRYING TO SOUND LIKE WE ARE MAKING a BUNCH OF EXCUSES. First of all (when it is prepared correctly) most of our patrons like our Queso and I purposely patterned it from the former Mama’s Café Queso. There are always going to be patrons that like different types of Queso, for instance I like Berryhills white queso, but there are a lot of people that do not like the bitter white cheese taste. We have multiple cheeses for sandwiches, burgers, etc. and we have the good ‘old Kraft Cheez Whiz that some patrons cannot do without (I am not much of a cheese whiz fan, but each to their own preference). If you ordered Chile con Queso and we accidently gave you Cheese Whiz, it’s probably not going to be to your liking. We certainly have some growing pains, some preparation pains, some inconsistencies, etc. to deal with. We are bringing in another new cook Monday and training all to have THE SAME food for our patrons whether it’s a weekday lunch or a Saturday night Rockets game.

    We appreciate all criticism and do our best to make all corrections per our customer’s wishes. We try to please everybody, which is obviously impossible to do; but one thing we will always strive to do is make our food fresh, make it consistent, and make it good. Anytime one of our customers has a legitimate complaint, we’ll fix and/or we’ll do our best to find the problem, we’ll replace it, or just apologize that is not to your taste and refund your purchase. Since we took over September, we have improved things dramatically from food to TV’s to cleanliness to a full bar that started yesterday afternoon.
