Fair enough. I do hope he can improve his shooting soon and I know he will. I cringe when he shoots.

he needs to shoot more. taking only 7 shots wtf is that bull*****?

you got that contract jeremy lin and made the rockets want you to give that contract because you were aggressive and wanted to score.

now he gets his money all of a sudden he doesnt want to shoot and just stays in the corner waiting for a spot up 3 that he doesnt want to take.

I wish people would stop posting in this thread. And I think it was a Lin fan who started it up again.

Weird how perceptions work. Lin's shot selection has been roughly the same this year as last year. The difference? Lin is shooting worse from the outside, yet better close to the basket. Yet perception is that he's stop driving to the basket.

The OP is to be congratulated. This thread has become the most popular one at this forum.

It is pretty evident that Lin is a star. Notice that I didn't say star NBA PLAYER. Only stars have fan clubs. We have LOF club, LOH club, LOFH club and LOHH club.

Dang, if I were a Rockets player, I'd be very jealous of all the attention Lin is getting.

I think it is way to early to say definitely that he isn't worth the money paid for. he has a 3 year contract 240 games approximately. He has played 14 of them. A tad bit knee jerk. If you are saying at 14 games that he isn't worth the money paid for then likely you had already come to this conclusion in the offseason & are suffering from a bit of confirmation bias. Just a thought.

    Bingo.

Unless he magically sprouts hair all over his body and goes off like Teen Wolf ...yes, i can safely say that he isn't worth the money.

Wait what. So 14 games into a 240 game contract you have already come to this conclusion. Your not serious. You realize that from now until the contract ends he has 240 games to play and two off seasons to get better? You have to be trolling me right now.

it evened out and lowered because melo and amare came back, then dantoni got canned and woodson took over and wanted it to become melo's team.

that's not the case here in houston. its just lin and harden that are the true playmakers in the team along with chandler parsons who disappears as much as lin.

there is quite a bit of difference with this lin and the new york lin. no more floaters, no more mid range game, less aggressive. stats dont always tell the whole story.

houston needs lin to be more aggressive offensively. too many games where lin is too passive against certain players/match ups. you can see a clear lack of confidence to attack offensively and lin totally regresses to a fetal position against certain teams/ players.

im not asking him to out statistic every allstar match up he goes up against. not at all. im asking him to not play scared.

deshawn stevenson will never outplay lebron but he is never scared of lebron. vernon maxwell was never better than jordan but he never got scared of jordan.

that's my biggest critique with lin. he plays scared and passive way too much and defers too much and even defers when he doesnt need to like when harden is out he is still deferring to the likes of daquan cook and greg smith.

    that is inexcusable.

LOL. I am really sick right now, high on neocitran (cold medication) so I am a step slow on a lot of things. I figured he was being sarcastic. ;)

smh. Why do you feel he is playing "scared" and being "passive"?

From what I've seen, he has been playing under control. His TOs are down.

He is not deferring to the likes of Cook and Smith who happen to be his teammates. He is distributing the ball to whoever is open.

That's what PGs are supposed to do.

Only if Lin does turn into Teen Wolf, NBA is really going to turn into a circus act.

there is a difference between passing to a open teammate for a great open shot and easy assist to standing in a corner while you let daquan cook try to create while the shot clock is going out and you refuse to ask for the ball back and create something for yourself.

ive seen too many games where lin passes the ball away goes to a corner while the person he passed the ball to cant do nothing and you refuse to get the ball back.

how many times have we seen the offense break down, the player stuck with the ball is looking to pass it out because he cant do nothing with it and lin continues to hide in a corner instead of going back to the ball and making something happen.

in all seriousness, i take your point, and it's true that making blanket judgments about how good or bad Lin is 15 games into the season is a bit rash, or "knee-jerk" as you put it. But it didn't even take me 15 games to figure out that Harden is a max player. Why should it take me a full season to figure out that Lin isn't worth $8.5 mil a year? I refrain from saying things like, "Lin is a joke", because that's just silly. But it's not too soon to say that he didn't deserve that contract. He is clearly overpaid for his production thus far, and while he will likely improve, he would have to be freaking Teen Wolf (i.e. undergo some sort of supernatural metamorphasis) to be worth that money. Another way to say it is ...the gap between where he is now and the player he needs to be in order to be worth his contract is very big. I don't think he's gonna get there this year. And let's just say that he get's there middle of next season; then we've overpaid for a year and a half. It's still a net bad investment.

fyi: i hope he proves me wrong and straps on the headbands, the high white socks, and the shades; and dunks from half court.
