I have a grain mill. Whole grain spelt instead of wheat. Millet works as well, but doesn't taste quite as tasty IMO. I suppose you could use any kind of grain, really. I then just mix the flour with some water. No salt, no eggs, no milk or buttermilk, though you may want to use some combination of these if you're not quite the food-nazi that I am. Otherwise you may miss the salt and/or the pancakes may taste bland to you.
It's Tom Yum soup. It's a Thai dish. And yes, it is awesome. If you're in Houston, my favorite place for it is Thai Gourmet.
Best Thai restaurant I've had anywhere for that matter. Spicy cheese rolls. Garlic fish. Pad ke mao. Actually, anything from there :grin: I really don't have a favorite dish per se. I like certain things from all genres.
I think Berryhills is overrated... prefer Chuy's fish and shrimp tacos to Berryhills. Something about the sauce they use.
