Is there really that much of a difference between Vietnamese BBQ and Korean BBQ?

Tastes the same to me, anyway.

Some of the places I go even say they use Korean BBQ on their sammiches.

authentic Korean restaurants don't serve Korean BBQ sandwiches/tacos. I don't know much about this fusion type stuff but my mom never made Bulgogi or Kalbi sandwiches or tacos. (not saying they aren't good though.. lol) I say try some places that don't serve fusion. I find that these types of restaurants like to substitute ingredients.. like make Kimchi out of regular cabbage. (I see this a LOT and it's NOT authentic) if they serve Vietnamese and Korean .. chances are they do the same which is why they taste similar to you.

I'm not, but I love me some chicken and waffles.........or fried chicken, mustard greens, mac & cheese, black eyed peas, and cornbread (a MUST have when I'm in NOLA.....usually at the Praline Connection).

I'm not talking about the presentation or how it is served, or what it is served with. I'm talking about the meat and how it is prepared. It appears to be essentially the same thing. The main reason I love Bahn Mi is because of the BBQ. It's just my prefered way to eat it.

Saying that "no one has mentioned korean BBQ" when two people have posted Bahn Mi, something which prominently uses Korean style BBQ, is like saying "no one has mentioned pepperoni" when two people have posted pictures of pepperoni pizzas.

If you're just talking about grilled meat, then most cultures have relatively similar forms of marinated grilled meats. Korean BBQ is (the meal or dish....not just the marinated and grilled meat) is hallmarked by the numerous side dishes that accompany it.

......try it with a hangover (or right before you're about to have a hangover)......make sure you get a little maple syrup on that chicken.

There's a Berryhill's in Champions. They're not my favorite fish tacos, but people rave about them.
