We should have a glossary. It came about with an influx of members that made clear that they were fans of Yao Ming, and often chimed that the Rockets weren't using/supporting him well enough. This birthed the Yao-Only Fans (YOF) vs the ROF civil war, soon to be followed by Tracy-Only Fans (TOF) getting into dust ups on the BBS from 2008-2011. You've also got a variation in [Player]-Only Haters (_OH) Lin seems to be our new lightning rod. Super.
Actually you are dead on. If moving Lin gets rid of the LOF's i think that alone is a worthy and just reason for shipping him out of town. LOF's are a nasty plague that need to be eradicated. I don't know what's worse: LOF's posts or Royce White's tweets.
Have you ever been a fan of a team, before? I mean, not just because of one player, but a fan of an actual team? Because if you have, this is normal with sports fans. There is always one or two players that will get blamed and talked about more than other players. It use to be Tmac, before him it was Steve Francis. Go to any other sports forum and you'll see something similar. I'm. Ot saying is right, but it happens. This is nothing new.
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>Jeremy Lin told me he's been working with his shooting coach, Doc Shepler, on reducing arc on his shot (usually it's the opposite)</p>— Chris Ballard (@SI_ChrisBallard) <a href="https://twitter.com/SI_ChrisBallard/status/274242657113481216" data-datetime="2012-11-29T20:05:19+00:00">November 29, 2012</a></blockquote> <script src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> interesting... noticed it last night too. The arc on his shot is ridiculous. Parsons almost shoots it flat in comparison.
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>....Lin: "Like 80% of my shots are short, and he thinks it's due to the high arc."</p>— Chris Ballard (@SI_ChrisBallard) <a href="https://twitter.com/SI_ChrisBallard/status/274242818715815937" data-datetime="2012-11-29T20:05:57+00:00">November 29, 2012</a></blockquote> <script src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
I think the media ranks players because there the media & that is there job to over simplify things so that casual fans understand. I think fans then ultimately fall into that trap as well themselves. It is a superstars league so I am not even surprised though. We see this all the time with who should take the last shot etc. Lets take OKC for example because I hate the Heat. Before the Harden trade people said KD Russ & Harden were the three most important people on that team. But why were they? Harden was so effective with OKC because he had guys around him, people like KD & Russ to spread the floor, bigs to set screens & off ball screens. There is a lot more to it than that & i could elaborate more but it will take to long. That is essentially what I mean by ranking of talent on a team is fundamentally flawed because there are 100 of other factors at play. In the end it is ultimately a team sport & if one guy doesn't do there job properly everybody else on the court is affected. Just a thought.
yah he got eaten alive by westbrook. Not to mention only took 7 freaking shots? Does he not realize chandler's out and they're behind 15, 20 points and he needs to be a little offensive minded, instead of jacking up his assist count? not to mention he supposedly just came off his "best" game of the year... according to sampson.
I am a fan of my own hockey and football (no NBA from where I live) team. I know it happens, but I'm still going to keep repeating myself over and over in hope that more unreasonable "fans" turn into REAL fans of the team who are actually supportive of the players who are willing to do their absolute best for the team on and off court and be able to differentiate when a player does well vs when they are sucking. I'm not asking for much, just want people to actually know what they are talking about instead of making stuff up. Like the game against Chicago, Lin was really stinking it up and was warranted for criticism. But in OKC, he did really good. Many players would have had a meltdown, but he kept his game the entire way, but with some self proclaimed "real fans of the team" here, he's still playing like a scrub.
Jlin is a piece of **** and a TO prone. Most Disappointing Player of the year award has to go to him. He doesn't belong to the NBA court.
Yea eaten alive...what westbrook have against Lin...8 points? EATEN ALIVE!!! Westbrrok scored only 8 against Lin...he sucks Lin only scored 6 against Westbrook...he sucks Harden just sucks, how many did he shoot and miss youre an idiot
Against OKC everyone on each team cancelled each other out, but 2 positions Bench OKC 33 Rox 13 #1 Option Harden 17 Durant 37 1 more stat Lin goes to the bench 2Q -Rox down 2 Douglas play 4 min. in 2Q - Rox down 11
Jlin was getting eaten alive night in night out since October and you will know that if you stop watching the highlights only.
Nice find Arthur. I thought the reason his shots were falling short was because of lift. Now that I think about it his arc is insane. From what I have been hearing he has been working crazy hard on his shooting so hopefully he gets to put it to use against Utah. I am crazy excited for that game. Also apparently he has been eating with his left hand & bathing with his left hand as well. For all those interested in where I got I still think this left hand thing is a tad bit overplayed there are a lot of ways around it. But what I do I know I am not a coach.
Ive watched every game this year....you clearly dont know anything about b-ball..... Lin shut westbrook down. Theres more important things than scoring. By the way how many did Harden score last night. You're an idiot too....
Stop responding to people on my ignore list. People who always rise to the bait have to go on ignore too, I guess. Can't stand this board sometimes.
