I think it is more likely he will have 20 rebounds and 10 points on a regular basis -- and, honestly, I think that would be more impressive.
Yeah smart is the the word! nice one my son... @hamjam yeah 20 rbs would be more impressive but i think the team more needs his offensive game in the post in order for others to get more space and good positions...
yeah there's no better value in the league at center (maybe Gortat) on a non-rookie scale contract. I prefer Asik to Jordan, Hibbert, Nene and Bogut.
Do you realize that after 15 games Omer has higher scoring avg. than JLin? That is something no one would have thought possible. Way to go Omer! Jeremy, pick it up a little would you. I am rooting for JLin BTW.
17-12 against okc. 1st in rebounds in the game. 8/13 from the floor but sucked at ft's. 1/7. he plays like a playmaker at times. runs the fastbreaks, dribbles through the paint, lays reverse switch layups. if he had his shooting, he would kill the opponent, resurrect and then kill again.
Another solid (maybe great) performance from Omer last night. Guy is consistent as hell and must be getting frustrated that other guys aren't getting the job done. He always gets his job done and even gives us some extra goodies w/ his developing offensive game. Always the one to clean up messes w/o any of the thanks. Really hope he wins MIP this year. Definitely deserves it.
Asik is touching the ball a lot more on offense than I ever expected. He actually has some ability in the low post, which is a pleasant surprise. I think that he still has some improving to do which is pretty exciting. The acquisition of Asik looks like a home run at this point.
I am genuinely surprised as well, I saw him play in Chicago and figured he'd be a 7ppg 9rpg guy(which I would be happy enough with if he maintained 50% FG), he has far exceeded expectations. Home run, or Omerun?
Jeremy on Asik day 2 of training camp http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sn87O0FhTMY Which led to the "I told you so comment"...starting @ 1:47 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eTeShVT5FYg
Omer Asik is one of the reasons why I hope that any expensive new player that Morey signs isn't for a contract longer than 2~3 seasons. I love him so much and love that it seems like each new game we see something new or improved from Asik on the offensive end... meanwhile he keeps on keeping on being insane on defense. I cheered so hard when I learned that Asik got signed, because I could see him and Lin being like a Tyson Chandler and Lin tandem... and it's slowly turning into one. Perhaps even better since Asik is showing more flexibility and growth than Tyson.
Hey I liked the interview a whole lot. The Omer part was great. Interesting that he really likes McHale so much. I think McHale is a Rudy T type coach. The type of player's coach guys will really go to war for. You can't underestimate the heart of a champion or what a team will do when they have that type of relation with their team mates and the coach. The armchair coaches who trash McHale constantly are short sighted.
