I can almost see GARM blowing up when your starting PG would be Toney Douglas and Gasol going down with his tendinitis.
Stats last night for Lin and Westbrook JL 06/03/08, 41m, 03-07 FG, 0-1 TH, 0-2 FT, 4 ST, 3 TO, -12, EFF = 12 RW 14/05/09, 36m, 06-15 FG, 0-3 TH, 2-5 FT, 3 ST, 5 TO, +04, EFF = 15 "EFF" = raw efficiency number. (All the good stats) - (all the bad stats) = EFF So, Lin basically played Westbrook to a draw. On a back-to-back night for Houston, with the trip to Minnesota in between. I'll take it. Lin's best play of the game was when he stripped Westbrook in the paint in the 3rd quarter and then took the steal coast to coast for a reverse layup. This was the 3rd straight game in which Lin let the game come to him rather than trying to force things. Love the way he's playing now. As his explosiveness comes back and his confidence comes back, his scoring will go up. But for now, he's not forcing up bricks and trying to take over the game. That's smart. He is starting to settle into his role for where his knee recovery is right now, and his fitting in to a new system and teammates. Houston can score. They don't need J-Lin to put up Linsanity scoring numbers. Just take care of the ball, find guys for shots and keep improving. Lin's had some bad luck on blown assists. Like the wide open dunk Pat missed in the game. But that happens and will get better as time goes on. This is a young team, they are still figuring things out. I'm happy that they are 7-8, though. It could be a lot worse.
You think Parsons is the second best player? I can't say I disagree, but imagine if Asik were injured.
Thanks. I'll try. Just get busy. Lihao -- Yeah, it happens every now and then. As Asik becomes a better finisher, too, Lin will get more assists. Lin has calmed down a lot in the last 3 games. It's good to see. Now I feel like he has a "base" he's working from, instead of just trying to come out each game and start Linsanity 2.0. I think he understands it will take time, and is more at peace with that fact. Which means less forcing, fewer bricks and fewer TO's.
totally agree .and we really miss Parsons today , Thunder game plan was trapping Harden and Lin the whole game , Parsons would've made them paid for it .Sampson did try to adjust and let Cook handle the ball quite a lot, too bad he's just not that good.
I thought the team hung in pretty well last night considering Harden's tough shooting game and all the circumstances involved (back to back, Minnesota trip, guys hurt). One other thing: People that want Lin to fail, after last night, will be saying things like "Jeremy needs to be aggressive" and "Jeremy needs to shoot more." I'm not saying that everyone saying these things wants Lin to fail, but this will be the tactic of those who do want him to fail. Say I don't like Tim Tebow. I know that the thing which Tebow does worst right now is pass the football. So, say Tebow comes off of a game where his team loses but he performed ok. But maybe he passed just 12 times with 6 completions. So, if I am a Tebow Hater and I want Tebow to fail, I'm going to want to try to get him to do more of what he's not good at, in hopes he will fail. My chant will be "Tebow needs to throw the ball more; he's not throwing the ball enough." For Lin, he's struggling with his shot right now. And he knows it now, so is shooting less. Which means his FG % is going up. That won't sit well with the Lin Haters. Thus, you will now hear "Lin needs to shoot more" and "Lin needs to be more aggressive." For the Lin Haters, the hope is Jeremy will force shots and have games with 3-10 FGA rather than 3-6 FGA. Thus, they don't actually want him to shoot more and succeed, they are just hoping he will do more of what he is struggling with right now (shooting), in the hopes that he fails. If you like Jeremy, then you should be happy, I think, with how he's playing now. Fewer points while he gets his body, shot, and confidence in order. Playing in the flow of the game. His points will go up soon enough, but he can just ease into that moment rather than just put up shots he doesn't feel confident taking.
most probably, but i could have been a much tighter game, anyway i ain't even mad at all , this young team play with a lot of heart , it's so enjoy to root for them
Don't be ridiculous. I've praised Lin too and want him to do well. I've been as adamant about my opinions as much as Lin has played bad, deservedly.
You're dumb. I'm not even gonna argue with you about this. I never said anything about scoring. You're trying to tie what I said about Tracy to this thread. I just said my wish upon a star that Tracy could somehow be NBA caliber again. You're crazy.
The Thunder were double- teaming Lin and Harden all night. Lin was passing to the open man and getting assists. Harden kept forcing the action and had 6 shots blocked. It was atrocious - what are the coaches thinking?????
Offense was not a huge problem for the team last night. They got 103 points per 100 possessions, only 3 points per 100 possessions below their season average. So, that's one more made 3 or a few less missed FTs. Despite Lin not taking many shots and Harden not making many FGs, the team got Pat and Asik opportunities to put up points. So they didn't really deal that badly with OKC's defensive strategy of pressuring Harden and Lin. Defense was way off their season average as Durant and Ibaka were allowed to get hot and score very efficiently. They allowed OKC 126 pts per 100 possessions. In fact the numbers from the game dropped their D from 15th ranked in the league all the way down to 20th.
I'm trying to find a single bit of honesty in this thread... it's not there. You started this thread because you were pining for Lowry and you jumped too early and now you can't back down so you're doubling down on your hate of Lin. This thread amply demonstrates how little objectivity you seem to possess on this issue.
