There would be plenty of ways to create electricity for years even if utilities went out. Generators, batteries, inverters, solar, wind, etc. All of which would be pretty readily available in post-apocalyptic times. Now if you're just talking about it never being discovered, then we'd be really freaking stupid as human beings so we wouldn't have that long of a life expectancy to begin with. /debbiedowner
Having lived in a few third worlds, I've had my fair share of no electricity incidents. Mostly I cry and curse the man.
I would probably grow some crops. Do more outdoors activities such as cycling, playing basketball, and hiking. Fish a lot more (if I'm close to a body of water).
I'd be etching Clutchfans on stone tablets for generations down to follow and read. Thou shalt: 1. Never just ride, but try to "Ride ride" 2. Claim Sura faints when in disbelief 3. End messages with DD, even though your name is stated on the left. 4. Be positive and rate things 8/10. 5. Wash junk in sinks when in times of desperate need. 6. Hate the Utah Jazz 7. Declare oneself as LOF, YOF, TOC, as needed to keep the China connection. 8. Revere "My life" starring Michael Keaton 9. Prove occurences with pics or didn't happen 10. And upmost, Hakeem > all
If you mean no electricity, what would I do in the house during the day and at night? I would get out my typewriter and finish my novel. I would also practice my calligraphy. All of this under a gas lantern or candle. Outdoors, I would visit friends and eat dinner together. Watch a play with shadow puppets or stage actors. Perhaps go kayaking or bicycling. It wouldn't be as bad as people imagine. As someone who's lived in less developed countries, it won't be that bad. Life would seem a tad slower since information won't be available at lightning speeds anymore.
You're missing the point. The question is what you would do DIFFERENTLY. I would probably learn to ride a horse. Then get a job carting people around.
Planting them vegetables and sharpening the blades is what I'd probably do. Aside from that a lot more reading and outdoor activities would be done.
Speaking of Revolution. I just watched the pilot episode and wasn't too impressed.Does the show get any better ? The highlight was seeing Gus from BrBa was in it.Will he be a regular ?
Sandy knocked out power in NYC for two days and the media painted as a miserable endeavor with helpless people who'd trade sex for gas. I think all hell would break loose in a big city within 2 weeks without power/fuel.
FINE. I'll bite. How are you going to listen to your records and what kind of records, since there's no electricity?
