I thought you guys hated the Delfino signing and just wanted to play all rookie power forwards all the time + 48 minutes a game for the next superstar PG in the making(Scott Machado). Yes, Douglas sucks. I get it. I can't wait for the day to come in February where they can move him and either move up a NBA ready Machado(if he improves in the D-League), or bring in a solid backup guard off the bench to help Harden/Lin. However, right now Douglas is going to have to due. You can't play Lin/Harden 48 minutes a night, and Cook isn't the playmaker you really need running the point. He's a good floor spacing wing. That's about it. He belongs on a contending team, not a team trying to find a young player that can step up into a star player role alongside Harden.
Umm...no. In an ideal world, Cook needs to stay at the end of the bench when Rox are at full strength. I hope Machado can show something as an alternative to Douglas. He's too sporadic.
I think Cook has a little game. We don't need him taking 17 shots, but I think he could be a three point specialists off the bench. He's had some pretty good years shooting the three ball. He also had 7 rebounds and 4 assists tonight, so he was active on the floor.
We can make the same arguement for douglas though. Dude can't score, pass or defend. His defense is so overrated its not even funny. I'm officially a DOH (Douglas only Hater)
If ya smeeeeeelelelelelel ... what DaQuan ... is Cookin'! *FYI if you don't it's a jacked up contested three*
He's fine if he just plays off the ball and makes the simple play. Either camp out on the 3 point line for kick outs, or come off screens to shoot or cut to the basket.
Hell no, they are both terrible Cook is like Delfino when they both do failed Kobe impressions and take a billion shots and miss most of them
Before Cook stops shooting 3's at will, Douglas > Cook. Even though TD is pretty bad, but he doesn't play outside of the system as much as Cook, who's a bad influence to the team.
Cook is still salvageable, because you can ask him to play in a role that's more suited for him. Spot-up outside shooting. But Douglas is not salvageable, because his role is PG but he can't play that. Every time he starts to dribble, it is almost an automatic default TO, either via a TO or a low percentage shot or a last second pass-off putting another teammate in pressure.
I think Cook>Douglas but agree with most that say it's the lesser of two evils. Cook has a better touch from 3-point land than douglas, which would make him more of an asset if and when Harden drives and dishes.
The guy is fighting for his NBA livelihood after this season. Give the guy a break. He got his first significant chance of the season, and wanted to put it all out there on the line. Its so easy for us as fans to say team first always, but to these guys at the end of the day, they have to treat the game as a business as well for themselves. Anyways, Cook at least gave a solid effort despite shooting a poor percentage. Can't completely chastise him for it, but you can see now that there is a good reason why he hasn't been a starter in the past, and has just been pegged as a 3 point specialist.
whoa there young fella! not so fast Cook has been pretty useful and consistent when Lin/Harden are there to get him good open looks and/or the offense is naturally flowing. But I still think Douglas is needed more to run some sort of offense. Today he was chucking the whole game, yeah big part of that was to OKC's credit for successfully shutting down our backcourt and forcing everyone else to beat them but he wasn't even attempting to get anyone else involved lol
that's what he's suppose top do is shoot. that's all he can do is shoot. he's a spot up shooter idiot.
They both are really bad, shouldn't have more than 5 minutes on the court. Otherwise, they could cost the team some games.
