It's not like Lin didn't get pressured as well. They were doubling both of them at the 3pt line and had someone waiting in the paint. Besides it would be Harden's job to take pressure off of Lin more rather vice versa.
He's passing, stealing, rebounding, and defending well. His scoring was the least of my worries about him. It will come around.
Did you even watch the game? As soon as Lin catches the ball, they try to double team him. Do you refer he takes a bad shot every time? Do you also expect he would make those hypothetical bad shots? I don't understand how you can say that Lin wasn't aggressive when the defense didn't allow him to be. Blame OKC's good defense or Harden's hogging (might be by design) but Lin made the correct decisions in the game to have Patterson and Asik in good positions to score.
Let the OKC game be a reminder, not just for Lin but the entire team. This is a team with a ton of POTENTIAL, but against the heavyweights in the West(and a few in the East), this is still a young team that can be beat fairly easily just because... well they are young and haven't shored up the holes in their game, and good teams do what good teams do.... PLAY GREAT DEFENSE. Good teams scout, and know exactly how to defend the other teams best players. Why do you think Patterson had such a great game against OKC? Could it be because his man was double teaming Lin/Harden all night long. The Rockets, Lin, and Harden have a long way to go. They are going to use tonights game as an example of how a GREAT team can shut them down using the double team, and work out some schemes in PRACTICE to counter that if and when its arises again. Lin has had a couple solid games against the Knicks, and the Raptors showing signs of confidence in his shot finally. His shooting is a big part of his offensive game because if you dont make the defense respect your shot, they just pack the paint so he can't do what he does best.... drive the lane. I dont personally see anything wrong with Lin other than the major glaring weakness which is his shooting. It has nothing to do with Harden, the coaches, Carmelo Anthony, Spike Lee, or Royce White's Tweeting. Its all about Lin's shot. If he starts to hit the jump shot good enough for the defense to respect it, its not only going to make the game easier for him, but Harden will then get much less defensive pressure as well. Its a weak link right now on this team, and I have full confidence that he will turn it around. So, LOF's.... put your guns away, and stop getting your pantys in a wad. You guys are annoying. Lin haters..... put your guns away, and realize that yes, he's frustrating to watch right now, but he's just a few made jump shots away from looking like a completely different player.
the fact lin is a 10+ assist threat every night..despite harden running the entire offense..is amazing. i agree though! let's blame lin for allowing durant, iblocka, and martin for going off. you trolls are amusing
Although it is true that Westbrook falls in love with his jumper too much, it is also true that in this game he hardly got past the FT line to shoot the ball tonight. Stop hating. Lin played good D on him and stayed in front of Westbrook all game.
Refer to this post: http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showpost.php?p=7388143&postcount=2202 I stated that as well. It's not entirely Lin's fault tonight. OKC pressured the ball handler regardless whether it was Harden or Lin.
But the point that it is Harden's job to take pressure off of Lin is correct. Which he does. Night in and night out. Tonight OKC was especially focusing Harden. Other guys had to step up. Asik and Patterson did. Lin did not. It's not really that complicated.
Well then I dunno. Unless someone post a video of all their 1vs1, I'll have to use my memory. I thought Lin did a good job of contesting Westbrooks shots.
