That's not what I was seeing. On the two occasions I remember, Lin was angled towards Lowry in such a way as to funnel him to Asik, but the rotation didn't come on time.
I don't remember him being flat-out beaten off the dribble. The two instances I do remember: both times, JV sets a pick at the FT line and Lowry curls around him to find an open lane. Lin (or any player) can't be expected to get around that pick quickly enough to catch Lowry. That's where help defense is supposed to come in and step in front of the opposing guard. PPatt was a bit slow in those instances.
All 3 of our big acquisitions were paid based off potential. Lin, Asik and Harden. Harden and Asik have been a bargain so far. And if Lin can play up to his potential, so will he.
This. I don't think people understand the difference between being beat off the dribble & being picked off & help defense is supposed to come.
These guys act like we signed Lin for a max contract. Harden is going to get paid $16 million each year starting next year. He average 25 points a game. We signed Lin for $8 million a year. He average 11 points a game. He is producing fairly well for the size of his contract. You guys are cheap for wanting three bargain players. We already have two of them in a bargain. Chandlers rookie contract is just too funny. I hope he gets what he deserves.
Man, some people are just pathetic. When he did well for the Knicks, it's ONLY 20+ games; When he struggled early this season in half of the 14 games, he sucks; When he played well lately, it's only two games.
Exactly. If you don't want people to jump on him after a few weeks, then we shouldnt start the "I told you so's" after two games. You can get too high or too low on a player or you'll become disappointed.
A lot of posters like me aren't haters. We just call it like it is. I give him credit when it's due. He has shown promising improvement lately. But if he starts sucking again, I'll still rant. Call it knee jerk or whatever you want. But knees have to jerk, we ain't zombies...
Apparently that's how it works. 25 game stretch of great/elite play = small sample size/fluke 8 or so bad games out of the 14 so far this season = 100% proof Lin is a bench/D-League player
No they're not. Asik and Harden were already solid rotation players and they're also exceeding their previous outputs.
actually lin and westbrook have been playing hard D on each other all night. I wouldnt say hes playing awful.
