Man, i was shocked when i looked at this!

isn't the Houston Rockets becoming more popular than never when they got Jeremy Lin, and then James Harden?

and Houston Rockets is crazy popular in this board, did you fans who live in Houston ever go to the game to support the team?

I think all the fans are here discussing the team insteading of watching Jeremy Lin and James Harden *LIVE*.

i have no idea about the average price of the ticket though.

Lower the prices and move the team to a city that likes basketball, those farmers in Houston wouldn't know the difference between a hoop and a horses ass.

Went to the games both in the Summit and in the Toybox when I was in Houston. Never that empty though when I went. But the crowd sucked every single time. Whenever I yell in support, everyone in my section turned around and give me looks. **** them.

i think the oklahoma city fans will show the Rocket fans what is real crowd.

they are going to give a "warm" welcome to James Harden! in a couple of hours.

Yeah, the crowd in Houston sucks. But this isn't a basketball town, and the Rockets have been mediocre for too long. Most people don't care about them. The only thing that would turn that around is acquiring more big names and actually contending for a title. Until then, people will prefer to spend their money on the Texans.

All those empty seats are paid for. The guys that paid for them are in the club area drinking with their clients.

As someone said in another thread, "Out of sight, out of mind". I can't watch them and support them from my house, I've lost interest. I don't really want to pay anthing to a team I can't watch.

Yep. Half the time they don't even make it to the game until the second half.

I was there. The seats filled in once the game started. I was impressed with last night's crowd. It was way bigger than what I expected for a Tuesday night game against the Raptors. And anyone who says ticket prices are too high has never been to stub hub.

    This is so true.

I went to the game last night and sat courtside on about the 10th row. I stopped to get food before I walked down to my seat...the bar was packed. People sitting there as the game was starting...talking...doing business. Ultimately, that's what Toyota Center is built for...it shouldn't be a surprise when it's used that way.

But those are tickets bought second-hand..so they've already been counted for purposes of attendance (which just counts seats sold). Attendance numbers are affected a ton by the fact that the secondary market for tickets is so deflated....why buy from the Rockets when you know you can find seats for far cheaper on StubHub or FlashSeats?

Last thought: I do believe the Rockets are out of sight, out of mind for a LOT of people who might be in market to buy tickets otherwise. Having zero TV presence in the city from where you draw paying customers is not a good way to move seats in the short term.

I was there last night. I don't give my opinions on the GARM much, but... I see your point. They should go to the games more.

Why isn't this in the G.A.R.M.??!?

    That's what SHE said.

Win games, it will fill up. This goes for all Houston teams and it would have been the same for the Texans if they continued to suck...the new team smell was about to wear off for them so it's lucky they started to turn it around.

#1: No one can watch Rockets games on TV.
#2: Most of the people in the lower bowl are business mannequins. They don't care at all about the game, they care about schmoozing with people they can make money from.
#3: There is no provision for folks to move down to the lower decks from the upper decks. I guess the reasoning is that one of the mannequin bar schmoozers may want to come back and sit down in case anything interesting happens in the game.

    1) This isn't a *SPORT* (not just baskeball) crazy town until they win. When they win, that place will be PACKED.

    2) This is a huge city. So there may be Rockets fans in the Woodlands/Humble/Katy/Missouri City/etc. Those are 45+ minute commutes to Toyota Center one way not including traffic around Toyota Center.

    3) The weather is still amazing this time of year. I grilled out last night and had my tablet playing the game on the back patio.

Add those 3 together. It's tough to pack the house when you're a .500 ball club.
