I was in Vancouver for the past two weeks and it rained all but two days I was there. The two sunny days I saw were really nice, but the rest of the time kinda depressing. What pissed me off the most was I was watching the Cowboys-Browns game thinking there'd be another game showing after that. As soon as the game ended they cut to a friggin curling match. I tried to find somewhere to watch college football and every place I tried had CFL, UFC or some Raptors channel. Also noticed they have a tax for everything. You buy a bottled soda there's a 5 cent bottle tax. You buy a hamburger there's a tax for the paper around it.
Never been to Canada (never intend on going... ok ok MAYBE Calgary) but they always are straight up dicks and it seems like that whole damn country is atheist. I have no problem with them being atheist but everytime religion comes up they just mock whoever's religion and assault their intelligence for believing in whoever or whatever...Sigh it just gets old...FAST
1. I agree with Pole. Calgarians are weirdly like Houstonians. Makes it easy for a Houston kid like me to be on assignment up here. 2. The winter are cold but you acclimate quickly. And the last two summers were like California weather. 3. Banff is amazing and beautiful. I just spent Thanksgiving weekend skiing at Lake Louise, where my kids and I have season passes. There's already powder and the weather was amazing (well, not on Friday so much...really snowy...but thats where the powder comes from.) I figure I'll get 30 days in this season, not to mention a quick jaunt to Whistler in Feb. 4. I've had nothing but good experiences with healthcare in my two years here. Three hospital trips with kids. No lines. No bills, either. 5. Tim Horton's is better than Starbucks.
LOL going to Alberta, like ever Don't go unless it's for Banff And I'm pretty sure our immigrants are a lot more educated than the ones in America too
The eastern part of Canada has a ton of very devout people, with a very large Catholic population. I have been to Canada, by the way.
Is home to the best there was, best there is, and the best there will be. Also home to one one of the craziest bastards the world has ever seen.
I can't argue with this one, it is cold. But Calgary winters aren't so bad due to the Chinook winds. So we don't have the same clout as the US. But, who does? Then again I sort of like it that way. Our economy is envied by many, that's all I give a crap about. You are starting to sound jealous. There are plenty of oil addicts in the world today, finding the next junkie won't be so hard. Our reserves are proven and without as many attached uncertainties. Yours, not so much. If these are the two most famous individuals you could muster up, you've got to question your interests. "Haha, they can speak another language other than English. Knowledge is such a waste of time, p*****s".................typical. Wouldn't be shocked if you were here trying to find a job. Sorry, better luck next time.
lol I'm not in Canada trying to find a job. That's hilarious I'm here trying to help these losers find Asian buyers for their oil and gas, because the US doesn't need it any more
Alberta has the best economy, and yes its awfully like Houston... could probably call it Houston North. Vancouver, Montreal, Toronto are probably all even better than Calgary/Edm.
Spent a fair amount of time in Canada. Not my personal favorite, basically a more laid back version of America without the amenities America has but also without some of the problems. The people on the whole are nice and the landscape is agreeable. Way too cold for too long, but the summers are nice. Biggest drawback to Canada is the food, it just is not that good. Still could live there if need be. I would put it slightly behind Ireland, Scotland and England as far as places I could live... Well behind Spain and Denmark but well above many parts of the world, including China which is nearly unliveable.
