Well that is how he has been able to avoid triggers up to this point. Because of his game and earning potential, everyone in his life has enabled and accommodated him and helped him avoid his "triggers".

And I'm not saying that any of this "justifies" his behavior- it just explains it. That is why he should be allowed zero accommodations- because it will only make him worse.

Part of mental illness is having poor insight sometimes. White clearly doesn't understand his own disorder(s) and how best to manage them. Sounds like he has had terrible mental health care or none at all. Not too surprising because there are a lot of horrible docs out there.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to AroundTheWorld again.

Does this kid not have anyone mentoring him? Where are his parents/guardians?

Obviously he also doesn't have a reasonable, helpful inner circle. Apparently his inner circle (mother, whoever else) reaffirms him in his shenanigans, rather than slapping some sense into him. Possibly this developed over years of either whoever brought him up not supplying him with a proper moral compass or of him reacting in ways that would not tolerate any criticism whatsoever and the people around him just giving up or being removed from his inner circle.

This just gets worse now that he is disproportionately wealthy compared to everyone in his posse.

How does one even try to coach someone like that?

I have a suspicion that Hoiberg saw his talent and his coaching might have been to basically let the dumbass do whatever he wanted, both on and off the court.

I re-watched White's pre-draft interview and while some of the things could have been foreseen from that, he clearly misled everyone on his willingness to fly and how big of a problem it was.

What a mess. If I'm the Rockets, I don't cave in any fashion.

Be a man Royce, be a pro in whatever you do.

I wonder if Les is enjoying this publicity?

Any press is good press right?

I wonder if Royce would have any leverage if the Rockets just decided to void his contract. He's owed around $5M over the next 4 years, he's probably made about $150,000 so far this season. I wonder how long that'd last him.

The whole Royce White saga is just a front to distract people from the fact that they can't watch the games on TV.

Only 2 seasons guaranteed. And I hope whatever he has earned so far largely gets eaten up by fines. And I hope they can cut him and he goes broke. Sorry.

He's living in his own twisted mind, and so detached from how real world functions. Screaming for welfare benefits without working. The financial crisis we are experiencing in U.S, Europe were all brought by government feeding the lazies who scream for their own rights. I bet he screams at his girlfriend/children too, without thinking about creating a healthy environment for them. It seems hopeless but I still have a bit faith in Morey to find a way to help White. Whatever happens, I wont complain.

Well he doesn't really deserve any type of help from the Rockets at this point. I hope he knows that he has lost almost all fan support from Houston. The world is against him now... and I will be laughing when the world wins.

Jeez people, cut the guy some slack. It does absolutely no good to vent your anger. Ever thought that he might just have a very serious or life threatening illness???????

Do any of his actions make any sense at all??? Has he done anything that appears rational? Well, that is a symptom of the disease. Wikipedia might help immensely if you cared enough to want to know. And it can kill you. Just like lupus killed Sasha. Believe me, I have had a loved one with it. They can do wonderful things like decide to make a dozen vertical slits in each arm from their wrist to their elbows.

With all due respect, comparing what happened to Coach McHale's daughter to the continuing saga of Royce White just turns my stomach.
