Why is Lin getting so much hate?

What are the reasons for that skepticism? That's the crucial point here.

 

I didn't call all Lin supporters Asian, you making points against something I never said.

Bias doesn't cancel out bias.

For example, there are a lot of people who love Obama because he's Black. But that doesn't mean there aren't a ton of people who despise him because he's Black.

Agree with several posters. I am asian. This has nothing to do with racism whatsoever. It is purely from the fact that Lin is not playing at the level that a $25 million dollar contract suggests. I guess many feel tricked by his Linsanity performance last spring that it has not translated to the current time. Perhaps even Morey is thinking he made a bad bet. However, it is still early in the season and conclusions can only be made at the end, at least valid ones IMO. Just my two cents.

Not every Lin fan is calling you a racist either. That's my point.

Each side is taking the most extreme views of the other and generalizing it as the other group.

A few people are calling out racism and now supposedly every Lin fan has that viewpoint. My opinion is that it is not really racism. If anything at all, it's more like stereotyping is involved.

A few people made some asian jokes about an asian player and now supposedly every Lin critic is a racist. My opinion is these posters are trying to be funny, although done in poor taste, and at the same time tweak/troll the people who disagree with them.

But my favorite are the posters who post like they are representing a group. Newsflash: nobody ever elected you spokesperson. You are not representing a group, you are expressing your own opinion and your post should reflect that. If people agree with you, they will chime in.

 

If they aren't using words like "We" "Us" "Our kind", etc then they aren't trying to be a spokes person.

 

Some people expect Lin can beat CP3 in the All-Stars voting.
They are mad at this.
