He has the work ethic, the game and the charisma to be a star, but he has to learn consistency and stop disappearing in games. That knicks game made him look like an all star in the first half, second half he was clearly a 2nd round draft pick.
what.. you mean in the third quarter he ripped Melo a new ******* on defense. James Harden was hot that quarter so Chandler didn't get that many shots.
he only played in the first half of the 3rd Quarter. He sat out the rest of the way, including the entire 4th qtr
Yeah..... Next time you should watch the game. Chandler destroyed Melo in the 2nd half on defense. He scored 6 points in the 3rd quarter which is very good. If your wondering why he only scored 6 points in the second half it's because he did not play in the 4th quarter.
disappearing in games? what? how? i don't even............ dude stepped up against the Heat, Lakers, and Knicks. what else do you want from him? scoring 18-20 points every night? barely even attempting 10 shots per game
He did disappear in the 2nd half. And it was 5 points, 3 of which came like 30 seconds into the 2nd half. My point is, he let himself cool off even though he was hot. Star players want the ball even more than normal when they are hot like Chandler was. So, yes, if you want to call him a star, 5 points in the 2nd half when you're on fire in the first is poor performance. Chandler should have made it to at least 40 before he got taken out of the game. He played at least 10 minutes of the second have because he had 34 minutes for the game. I stand by what I said and I watched the game twice. And piss on whoever said he lit it up on defense. Great defense is what you play 90% of the time if you are a star player who scores 14 ppg. Get real, he had a great half, but what the man needs is consistency to become a star, which is the point of this whole thread.
Points. If you could reach all the way towards a stat sheet, you'd know 26 + 5 = 31 so I must not be talking about the minutes he played. (it's 34 lazy b)
This thread was made for the great effor by CP25 in the Knicks game. Why downplay his efforts when the guy deserved it?
Speaking of points, you have a hard time understanding the point that he didn't play his usual minutes in the second half or play with his usual aggression. Because it was a blowout win. I was just thinking to myself "Who could possibly surpass the poster who suggested Parsons should be benched a few weeks ago?" And well here you are.
he did not play in the 4th quarter. so if sitting on the bench during the 4th due to a blowout win = disappearing during a game then I agree, he was invisible on the court during most of the second half, especially in the fourth quarter where it looked like the Rockets were playing 4 on 5. Chandler only touched the ball when it went out of bounds to his seat, where he was sitting. During the 4th quarter.
You have to be trolling. Do you know how many times elite players have knocked down 20 or even 30 first half points only to get the rest of the team more involved in the second half or do what necessary to refrain from evaporating the lead??? Parsons went on a scoring tear when we needed a scoring tear the most. Something that stars do. No one could get it going first quarter so Parsons turnt up. By the second half, we had other people scoring and we kept them at arms length by 15 points to coast the lead to the end. All Chandler had to do was keep Melo (the only person on knicks capable) from getting the knicks back into the game and he succeeded. He didn't will his way to 40 points because it wasn't needed. I'm not comparing him to - but Lebron, Wade, Melo, Kobe, T-Mac, any franchise player has scored in similar fashion. Stop it.
