Would be nice to be able to watch them. Especially since there isn't a Texans game for quite a few days.
Why don't a majority of fans know how they are doing? While it stinks that many can't watch on TV as they have done in the past, there are certainly other ways to find out how they are doing. I rarely get to watch the Texans or Rockets and I know very well how they are doing.
Well as most of you may know, that for at least the last week or so that I know of the games have been on 740 so you can listen clearly. 790's signal goes pretty much at sunset, so I look at this as a service for the fans that can benefit from the sister stations...
just outta curiosity, lets say the team really gets it together and are PO bound. Can they still black out channels?
I am on the edge of getting comcast for two reasons: One: I have a nice 47 inch tv that is build for very good HD. I get Dish Network for free with my apartment, but no HD channels and dish comes out blurry. So, I want a good quality picture to go with my new TV. Two: I want to watch Rockets on something other than a crappy stream. Convince me otherwise. I'm about to give in to the devil Comcast.
As soon as one provider caves the dominoes should fall into place, at least, I hope. I am 100% that dish won't be the first to get CSN, they are by far the stingiest with the money.
Judging from the chatter the past few weeks, it sounds like DirecTv will be the first to get the channel.
I was speaking futuristically. I think they have the best foundation they have had for a while with more money to spend.
I agree!! The only question is "which way will it be resolved"?!? Like TreeRollins, I don't like the Portland situation!
And fair-weather fans throughout Houston rise in a halfhearted ovation. It's those of us that are such fans that we actually care so much that we are heartbroken when we miss preseason games, even for a lottery-bound team, that are actually screwed. In other words, to those of you that don't care unless we're winning, don't worry. We won't be winning anytime soon so you wouldn't watch us anyway. Oh, you're one of the ones that's followed the team religiously for decades, saying and meaning "I believe" even in the rottenest of years? You're one of those ones that screams so loud from the cheap seats you disturb our preferred customers as they make business deals at the bar or in the half-empty front row. We don't care about you. We got your vote, we got your money, now get lost.
One Day. One day I will venture into the GARM and see an amended title for this thread. The title will read: “UPDATE: Deal Has Been Reached with DirecTV… More Providers to Follow.” Or something along those lines. One Day.
I don't think it's even close. DirecTv will change their message on the website before something is close.
I have been a Rockets fan for many many years...through the bad times and good times but always a die hard supporter.... The Rockets were my first NBA team to see in person and still cherish that memory...... every year I have purchased several games with parking and while at the game would always by something for the grand kids or kids....but now....and let me be clear....."NO MORE".... my $$$ will be used to support another team that supports it fans..... will I watch whenever if ever we as fans get to watch our Rockets play I will be right there making sure my Direct TV is on and ready as Comcast will never get another dime from me....too many bad things with that company..... but yes I will watch and enjoy each and every game that comes on....but my $$$$ this year and maybe in the years to come will not be used for team owners that forget about the ones that made the teams what they are......
