While the trade does put us into the conversation for top 4 in the west there is 3 problems with the trades.

1. Les was the one that wanted Lin - most probably for marketability. Can't see him giving up that now for some older players.
2. Does LA really give up Gasol for those players?
3. Does the LA trade work money wise after we hit the cap with the Nene trade?

 

I say yes to Nene' here but Gasol has hit a wall and seams to be falling very fast.

 

In a heart beat! Gasol is becoming Amare Stoudemire 2.0.

Gasol has tendinitis in both knees

i don't think that Nene trade is legal. At first glance, you don't have that much cap space, even if you include Delfino.
Re 125%/150% rules, they don't apply if you are trying to trade "into cap". Instead, there's only the 100k rule. You have your cap space +100k, and if you want to 'absorb' someone, you have to do it within those limits. If you can't, then you have to match salaries and apply the 150%, 125% and 5 mil (+100k) rules.

If there was a way to make all those trades legal, then I don't think I'd want Nene, if I'm Houston. I'd rather have the cap space in 2014.
Many people want Pau because (A) they don't want to give huge deals to Josh Smith and such this summer, and (B) Gasol expires in 2014.
In summer 2014, I'd rather have cap space than Nene.

 

Aside from acquiring a legit PF, Get Wilson Chandler. He's just rotting on the Nuggets bench. Solid 6th man right there.

 

Start using the ESPN Trade Machine to ensure the trade is legal.

Then start bubbling your mouth.

 

Chandler has been hurt.

 

the machine is useless when talking about some future trades. some players who aren't eligible now will be eligible later.

 

His injury is just minor. He should be back in a couple of weeks.

 

On realgm, you can opt to waive requirements that will expire. Try using that instead.

 

He's recovering from surgery and is closer to healed than he was, sure. It's not a career ender or something.

The point is that it's not like George Karl dislikes him or he's fallen out of the rotation or whatever other conspiracy theory is going on here. He is literally logging DNP's due to injury lol.

 

The Wizards are a huge mess, and it's unclear if Nene is going to be part of their future plans if [when] their coach is fired shortly [any day now] and Wall finally returns from his own injury [still a ways off].

We'll have a better idea of whether the Rockets can obtain the very player they were trying to get this off-season, and if he is still capable of his old production, once the dust settles in Washington.

 

Incidentally, I would love love love love to see Wilson Chandler in a Rockets uniform. He's exactly the kind of stretch player Morey covets, whose stats only improve with higher usage. But I don't know how to pry him away from the Nuggets, except if Denver continues to experience success with Chandler on the sidelines, and so new-ish GM Masai Ujiri becomes convinced they can do without him. Outside of that, they might as well just continue to roll three deep at every position.

Cousins 2014 restricted FA after all their history are they ready to resign to a big deal or get what they can now?
Fredette rookie year was avg 18 min a game this year is down to 9 mins. I really think they are either fazing him out or just cant find away to use him.
Change of scenery could do both of these players good.

the Rockets ability to trade their pick is very limited right now. Basically, that trade isn't possible.

Even if you had the picks to trade, that's basically Cousins for T-Jones and a mid-lotto pick at best, plus random throw-ins. Cheap.
