Well they definitely know their options better than anyone else. I'm sure they know what should be available in the offseason from the offers they're fielding now. And with his short term contract he isn't so much a "win now" player as he is a veteran some teams could use "right now". A team like Utah could take all his salary if they want a quality big to keep around the youngsters, should they not want to offer long-term contracts to Millsap or Jefferson.

I think he's making a joke about Hoopsworld always being wrong.

Sure, there are some potential trade partners in the summer too, Rockets included.
That list is almost certainly smaller, though. Less buyers, likely lesser offers. It's also a bit risky to wait. I wouldn't be surprised by a deal in July, and I wouldn't be surprised by one in the coming months.

(I'm not sure what you meant with 'win now' and 'use right now', but it's probably not important)

Worry about that later. Harden has been playin PG just fine.
Harden/Pau/Asik. Size will be out advantage and Tony will be ok on that team playing good D and shoot 3s

I just meant that teams interested in Gasol aren't necessarily championship contenders. Dallas didn't give vet like Kaman a 1 year/$8 million deal to win a championship, they just needed a big to fill the rotation for a year. Teams can use Gasol as a roster filler while they prepare for the big 2014 free agency.

ahh, i see. well, i didn't mean just championship contenders, i just meant teams that want to win now. Like, Toronto is clearly in win-now mode, they just lack ambitions. Bucks, Pacers, Jazz are kind of the same. They can't afford to be bad, so they often get some vet scrubs who help their record a tiny bit and they mis-develop youngsters.

Desperate need for a legit post player/front line scoring. Plus, it looks like the Lakers will definitely try to trade him this season.

He would surely make our team better but not exactly what this team should be doing given our young core.

Lakers will be kissing our feet if we take Pau and his max contract off of their hands.

    Pass, all day, every day.

he has tendinitis in both knees. $19 M/yr contract for 2 years and we are going young looking for a potential max player? Makes no sense really. Rockets have said they are shooting for the playoffs, not a championship this year (realistic). Why hamper future development of young talent with a Gasol who at most will be with the Rockets for 2 seasons and 0 championships.

morey is too smart. The fakers are hoping for some desperate team to poney up but I hope GMs realize that its time to play hardball with the lakers and make them take lesser deals.

I mean it would appear they got a STEAL for Bynum considering he might not ever play full-time minutes again...wow. They really get lucky (or are good at tricking teams into bad deals????)
